I wonder if you can please help this novice on how to setup-configure the OpenVPN facility on the Vu Ultimo receiver (image BlackHole 2.0.8.1) with the ExpressVPN service provider or point me in the right direction? Once correctly configured, I presume that all internet connections from the receiver will now pass through the VPN service provider?

I wonder if you can please help clarify regarding questions on Backups for Vu Ultimo running BH 2081 which has all the personal plugins installed and configured as desired:-
- How I can a take a full image snapshot of the receiver configuration and restore it from the internal hard disk or USB stick?
- On the BH 2081 Backup menu, what are the differences between the Full Backup and Personal Baclup menu options and what filenames are created and their location on the hard disk when used?
- In the receiver's hard disk directory path media/hdd/backup what is the purpose of the file which exists enigma2settingsbackup.tar.gz and 2014-01-21-enigma2settingsbackup.tar.gz and how are they created?
- In the receiver's hard disk directory path media/hdd/fullbackup_ultimo what is the purpose of the file which exists 20130917_1744 with a subdirectoriy called vuplus and another one below it called ulltimo (containing file root_cfe_auto.jffs2 and kernel_cfe_auto.bin)?
- Under the Software Management section, what are the Backup System Settings and Restore System Settings features?
- In the directory media/hdd what is the purpose of BhPersonalBackup.bh5 file?
- Under the Software Management section, Advanced Options, Advanced Restore a list of files such as
2014-01-21-enigma2settingsbackup.tar.gz is shown and where does this fit in the scheme of things?

Another question which I have is in the media/hdd/backup directory on the Ultimo receiver's hdd, there many files eg. 2013-05-09-enigma2settingsbackup.tar.gz which are in a compressed format.
My question is that how can you can choose to select the desired file from a list of compressed files to be used by the receiver and I presume that the settings captured will correspond to the BH image used at the time?

I wonder if somebody can please kindly clarify regarding the filename(s) and location(s) of the personal and full backup for the above receiver. I have a personal and full backup which had been created on my receiver (1TB SATA hdd) with BH 2.02 Rev E.
I would like to replace BH 2.02 Rev E with BH 2.081 on the receiver, but would still like to retain the BH 2.02 Rev personal and full backup files stored, just in case I need to revert back to the "old" BH 2.02 Rev E image on the receiver.

- Even though the some of the unwanted pluggins have been disabled using the BH Speedup menu, they still show up in the list of available pluggins?

I have normally used Skin HDGlass16 with the above receiver, but since the FTP connection is "broken" (otherwise OK), which will not allow any downloads of the picons-channel lists, icons, help files, etc.... especially during a reinstall situation.
Can anyone please recommend a good comparable alternative Skin addon to Skin HDGlass16, which has facility for the on-screen side channel-picture shown and the various EPG events listed with their description, as well as all the technical channel information?

Thank you very much for your prompt reply to this newbie.
The Vu Ultimo receiver is running CCAM2.30 installed from TS-Panel 7.x pluggin and does this need to be disabled in order to run OSCAM. Am I correct that you can stop the CCAM2.30 from TS-Panel Softcam section?
Using the lastest OSCAM (oscam-svn8881-mips-tuxbox-oe2.0-webif-Light.tar.gz), a FTP file search on the receiver does not show the filename 'OSCAM' but does show the same name with various different file extensions stored in the /etc/tubox/config and 'OSCAM_Version' shown in /etc path. Therefore I assume that we can simply FTP the extracted file called 'OSCAM' to the usr/bin path.
The downloaded file CCcam.channelinfo-July13.rar does not contain the 'Ccam.providers' file and where can I obtain the latest version? However, the Vu receiver's via FTP does show an existing old Ccam.providers' file which is dated 16 Apr 2013. However, there is an old 'Ccamchannelinfo' file already present on the receiver which is also dated 16 Apr 2013 and will be replaced with the new one.
Once all the above steps have been successfull, what next???

- How can you change the assigned passwords for telnet and ftp, either from the PC or the receiver end (pluggin)?
- Is it likely that any differences between them (ie. Telnet & FTP passwords) could affect a pluggin such that it can not connect via FTP to update it files / settings?

I wonder if you can please help me. I have restored a full system backup for the above receiver. All is fine, except that when I try to update either Setup HD Glass 16 or Glass System Utility, a message that "Sorry FTP is unavailable at the moment, check your internet connection or firewall settings".
Updating the installed TS Panel to 7.2 has worked OK. Am I correct in assuming that the FTP sites may be "down" and hence the error message is being received?

If the receiver is in deep standby mode (keeping the receiver cool)and there is a scheduled timer recording set, am I correct that the receiver will "power up" in order to process the scheduled timer recording and then return back to deep standby mode?
