Hi Skinbobuk why not set up a server on you media center pc.

You can use VMware to set up a virtual linux serve, thats how I run my first one. I'll dig out the tut I use and ether post a link (if allowed) or I'll post the text file in here.

Or do a search in google, cccam vmware clarkconnect.

Following the runaway success of Cydia on iOS - with 10% of all iPhone users, about ten million people, having used the marketplace at least once - Jay "saurik" Freeman is planning to bring Cydia to the Mac OS X platform very soon. At the 360 MacDev conference yesterday, Jay said the new app store would be ready for the Mac "within weeks," positioning it to go head to head with the Apple Mac App Store expected sometime in January.

Jay has been evangelizing the Cydia vision for some time now, with high-profile talks at TED and elsewhere. Rather than merely an alternative to the iTunes App Store, Cydia is positioned as a resource for users to customize their devices to work in the way their owners want them to work. In his talk at 360 MacDev, Jay talked about Cydia, detailed cycript and Cydia Substrate, and took Apple to task for their restrictive policies and the poor quality of developer documentation.

His description of the Cydia Store for Mac was general, but presumably would give users easy access to tools similar to the tweaks available on iOS Cydia as well as useful apps free from Apple restrictions. Jay encourages developers who are interested in using Cydia for the Mac to distribute their products to contact patrick at saurikit dot com for details.

Security consultant Stefan Esser is set to unveil a new jailbreak method and utility that fortifies iDevices with ASLR, according to the Register.

Esser will present his new jailbreak process at the Power of Community Security Conference on December 14 in Seoul, South Korea. A new tool called "Antid0te" will simplify the procedure.

ASLR makes your device more resistant to malware attacks by randomizing the memory locations where injected code is executed.

"When you jailbreak it, it breaks a lot of security of a normal iPhone," hacker Charlie Miller told The Reg. "With Stefan's stuff, now maybe it's an option, if you're a security-conscious person, to still jailbreak your phone because you can pick up ASLR, which is going to make it a lot harder to do exploits."

"This enables users with jailbroken iPhones to create their own set of dyld_shared_cache files that have completely different library load addresses from every other iPhone in the world," Esser wrote in an email. "This is already a better ASLR than what exists on Snow Leopard because different applications can use different shared caches and therefore different load addresses."

And simply change the version number. If you leave no number it will default to 2.1 which was made when the plugin was made, but you can change it as more version are released. It basically just identifies the plugin.

Well when I had the problem Virgins engneer (Well thats what he called himself) could see the modem falling off and coming back when I rebooted but thats about all. {I didn't explain my diagnosis not wanting to possibly flaging myself ;-( }

But once I got the new modem my problems went away.

I'm not sure what state the cloning game is any more, all of the guys I played with moved on when the available bandwidth got bigger. { most of us were running multiple modems through dual / quad lan routers {and they wearnt cheap} and scrapping 10meg in total.

But the info and tools are still out there on the wonder web, so its prob some noob with time on his hands and hopefully he'll move on when he realise.

Cloning VM is more difficult these days since they blocked the scanning software getting access to neigbouring gateways. (I dont play no more).

Basically the guys who are still in the sceen , scan their gateways then trade the good mac addresses with guys on other gateways. (a bit more complcate than that though)

You might have had some noob scanned your gateway and figure that your 50meg is a buisness and being a weekend nobody was at home or he just dos'nt now any better. (he should soon realise because every time you rebooted his clone would be kicked untill he rebooted)
