The loading loop symbol in the top left corner is an indication the solo is struggling to process your request.. Try setting up a swap-file then see if you have the same issues..

Gave the swap a go but it made no difference, still the same issue.

I was wondering is it a case that the Solo is only able to cope with 1 lan connection to 1 device at one time? Because it has 1 perm link to my Duo for timeshift and harddrive does it sort of go to sleep on the PC connection after so long because it thinks the Duo connection is the only connection?

hi, any manual for vusolo , i want record on usb , tkyou

For me its just a case of mounting the USB Drive, Press the Blue button and then blue again and you should see mount Drive. THen after the reset I went into the menu setup and looked for recording paths and set this upto the mounted USB.

Looking for some advice and help with a network issue.

I have a Vu Duo and a Vu Solo both connected to my modem router along with my PC. This allows me to stream media from my PC to either VU+ and It also alows me to use the Vu Duo as the hard drive for my Solo.

Everything works perfectly except for one thing.

When the Solo has been on for a while and I click on the media link the box seems to get stuck with just the loading loop symbol in the top left corner. If I leave it for a few hours and come back it sometimes connects and other times it just stays as it is. If I reset the Solo it then works flawless until a few hours later and its back to the same issue. If I spend a few hours watching media on the network it works with no problems, its only when I start watching normal TV and leave the media alone it has this issue.

The Duo has none of these problems, it works whenever I need it to.

I have tried all the obvious things such as different images etc and they all appear to have the same issue, Ive even replacd the lan cable just in case that was the issue but still the same problem happens.

    Anyone have any ideas?

what you mean with : //origional vu software drivers, think it was called version7//
the latest vu solo drivers are ""vuplus-dvb-modules-vusolo-3.1.1-4.4.3-20130125""

    Ive installed this

Original Vu+ Solo Image Ver 7.0 Release (03.02.2012)

    http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…mage-ver-7-0-release.html

then I tried the bootloader update and got no joy.

Everything was fine untill I installed

Original Vu+ Solo Image Ver 7.0 Release (03.02.2012)

Hi all, thanks for all the advice but still no joy. I've managed to get onto blackhole 1.75 but can get no further.

I know it's not a clone because I have purchased genuine receivers from the same seller before, the price I paid means it's not a clone and it was using the latest images which I understand cloned can't.

I can also flash the latest vu origional firmware with no issues at all.

I guess it's a case of send the box back or stick with blackhole 1.75, as it's just a bedroom box I guess 1.75 will do.

Hi all looking for some help with solo please.

I was using the vix 3.0 image and everything was fine but I decided to try out blackhole 1.79.

After many flashes and reflashes I decided to stick with blackhole 1.78, the same image I'm using on mu duo. As always I decided to clear the cache in my flash by installing origional vu software drivers, think it was called version7.

Everything went fine the firmware flashed and I got the basic standard vu setup. I then flashed the blackhole image. I got nothing, just a blank screen. So I tried again and again and even went back to the vix image but still nothing. I decided to reinstall origional vu software again. Yet again this booted up no probs. so again I tried vix and blackhole and again after the flash and reboot I got nothing again just a blank blue tv screen with no signal.

I then tried downgrading the origional vu firmware to version 6. Yet again thîs was fine, everything booted into the basic vu setup.

So this time I tried an old vu image blackhole 1.72 this booted fine no issues at all.

So I think to myself I'll try vix 3.0 again and this time ill use the full backup.

And yet again it won't boot!

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

Cant get this to work on my Vu Duo running Vix3.0 living in Ireland.

Managed to get the RTE and BBC players working perfectly but for some reason the TV3 player crashes the box all the time.

Recently decided to flash my box using the blackhole 1.78 image.

Managed to connect my Duo to the PS3 and all is working ok.

However, Ive noticed that all the video files I saved on the Duo when using the Vix firmware were recorded in mpeg 2 and the PS3 picks these up perfect. But any video files I recorded using blackhole are in.ts and the PS3 says it cant view these files as they are unsupported.

Is there anyway to get the blackhole to record in mpeg2 or any other format that the PS3 can see?

    Many thanks.

Press Green button > Open Cool TV Guide Setup > Press Yellow button/TV.

If you are using an older version of Coolman and dont have this option try Multiquick button, it will assign your plugins to desired buttons on your vu+ remote, you can download it direct from the BlackHole addons panel.

If I press EPG the Info guide opens but id much rather the multiguide option instead. Anyway to do this?

    Thanks.

    Edit,

    Just a little update.

I used Multiquick button to do this and everything worked perfect.

Is there an difference in machines that I use to share my card?

I have a Vu Duo and a cloned Dm500. I have used both to share to my home network and havent really noticed any difference apart from the odd freeze etc. As a rule is the Duo a better option for less freezes etc or does it make no difference at all?

    Many Thanks.

Just realised I said macine in the thread title, whoops!

i know this may seem a strange question but can you plug a CCTV camera into a VuDuo to record?

I have a CCTV camera with the standard 2 Pin connections, Yellow for Video and one White for Audio. At the moment its plugged straight into my TV but I was wondering if it was possible to plug into a Duo to be able to record?

If it is possible what do I need to set up?

    Thanks!

    Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a new router for me?

Currently using a netgear DGN2000 but ive had enough of it, for some reason I think its on its last legs as today watching the footy and it seems my router locked up and lost the signal to my box.

had to reset my router just to get the signal channel going again, been doing this a lot lately so I guess the router is starting to pack up, getting lots of glitches too and I only share to 5 boxes, 4 in my house and 1 to my dad!

so can anyone recommend a good router and what the minimum requirements are for card sharing in a router?

    Many THanks

    Latest Update,

Did everything cazuela suggested and im delighted to say that everything is working perfect again!

Big thanks to everyone who offered support and help and a massive thanks to cazuela.

Im so delighted ive decided to become a VIP and ive just sent my £9.99 payment!

    Thanks again!

Just a little update for anyone else who may have similar problems.

After searching the net for a answer to my problem it appears that Ive found an answer.

It appears that the latest Kernal 3.11 has a memory leak, back in April of this year I read that the VU creators had become made aware of problems such as mine in a small number of Vu Duo`s, They had received a box with this fault and where attempting a fix but so far they coudnt find where the fault lied.

According to some people going back to the old Kernal and an Old Image was the only option.

What puzzles me is my Vu only showed this fault when I attempted the latest blackhole image flash. I guess the moral of the story is, If it aint broke dont upgrade your image.

Not been able to see any updates to Vu looking for a fix since April/May so if anyone else knows any news Id be greatful!

    Hi guys,

thanks for the ideas and suggestions.

Just to clarify when I say the box freezes I dont mean the picture freezes, I mean the whole box locks up, the picture freezes, I cant enter menu`s etc. THe only way to have it function again is to reboot.

This morning I decided to try and install a Vix Image to see what happened with that, the box appears to be a little more stable but still freezes up but far less than it did with the black hole images.

I really dont understand this because it was fine until I installed Blackhole 1.76

Hi all, looking for a little advice and help.

I have a original Vu Duo not a clone.

I updated to the new Blackhole 1.76 today, I was on 1.75.

After setting everything up I noticed that the picture would freeze constantly, so after another installation I decided to go back to 1.65. However since I downgraded back to 1.65 the same issue is happening!

I have tried a fresh clean install of 1.65 but Im still getting the freezing. The only thing that sorts it out is a reboot but after 10 minutes or so the box freezes again.

    Any ideas whats wrong?

    Many thanks.
