I also recorded a file which only had 2 channel AC3 in it. When I played the file back on my PC without editing it, it had clicks. But when I authored the clip to Bluray and played it on my PS3, there were no clicks! However on the file above with MP2 and AC3, the AC3 still had clicks when I listened to it on Bluray.

HERE is a clip. You can hear clicking sounds in the audio which only contains an AC3 stream. The 1080i video was recorded from a UK broadcast of BBC1. I noticed that when I copy the video from the VU+ to my PC and use MediaInfo on the TS file, it says 2 audio streams are in the file as follows.

    • MP2 2 channel
    • AC3 2 channel

I can use the VideoRedo software to only play back the MP2 (via Tools, Select Stream) with the video and you don't hear any artifacts on the MP2, just AC3. You can observe the same thing on your VU+ by pressing the Audio button on your remote control and selecting MPEG instead of Dolby Digital.

Is this a bug or are there settings I can use to get AC3 recorded properly without those artifacts?

I also noticed that when the video has AC3 5.1, the AC3 doesn't have any problems unlike when the video has AC3 2 channel. However I found it a bit worrying that the MP2 stream had audio narration embedded and the file copied to my PC had the same problem. How can I get it without audio narration?

    I'm using Black Hole 2.0.8.

I don't understand? Of course I'm using 1 of the slots as a card reader. I have my card in the top slot. Oscam rev 8784 - CCcam 2.1.3 Omnikey is supposed to read the card without requiring any configuration. All I do on Blackhole is select "Oscam rev 8784 - CCcam 2.1.3 Omnikey" and it then reads my card. On Vix I started CCcam but OScam wouldn't start.

On another issue I noticed this comment on Google: "You want crossEPG & OpenTV. forget this rytec boll*cks."

I'm already using CrossEPG and OpenTV but with Rytec-Sly UK. What's wrong with Rytec and should I be using Sly-UK instead? What's the difference? I notice that Rytec uses an EPG type of: ext_dat
whatever that means, and Sly-UK has an EPG type of: OpenTV. So I thought I should be using that since it mentions OpenTV and I'm already using CrossEPG with OpenTV?

Can anyone please advise me of the correct settings or plugins I should use to get my box to go into deep standby after so many minutes of inactivity. The box should resume from deep standby when there's a timed recording that's about to start or when the box needs to do an EPG update.

To get the box to resume from deep standby for an EPG update, do I just create a cron job as follows?:

    • Time to execute command or script: 5.50AM (10 minutes before EPG update is due to start)
    • Predefined Command to Execute: Standby

I'm also doing this at the moment:

    Menu, Setup, System, AutoShutDown Settings.

    • Enable Autoshutdown: Enable
    • Time in standby for power off (minimum): 0001
    • Enable action after inactivity: Disable
    • Disable shutdown in EPGRefresh time span: Yes
    • Show in Extensions/Plugins: Yes

After 1 minute on standby the LCD screen goes completely blank apart from the word "Yes". I have to press the OK button on the remote for it to go away. Then I see nothing on the LCD screen apart from a little square icon. Then when I press the power button to boot back up or when a timed recording is about to start then once booted there's a message saying "Recordings are in progress or coming up in a few seconds. Really shutdown now? Yes or No? If I just leave the message then the message just stays there and the programme records anyway.

How should I correctly set up AutoShutdown to prevent those bugs?

Never mind I just adjusted the "Left Section Width" sizes to 200 so I don't even need a skin for Cool TV Guide anymore. Just wondering though, how can I uninstall plugins installed via the LinuxSat Support Addons extension? I've changed too many settings on Cool TV Guide so I want to uninstall it then reinstall it again.

OK could someone please advise me of an plugin that will make my EPG look something like this where it shows 16 channels on screen in mini mode and it clearly shows the names of the channels b6317fff6706ac.jpg

I'm not too bothered about how it looks as long as it has those features.

OK. A bigger problem for me at the moment is the Sly+HD skin for Cool TV Guide. I selected a skin of "MyDesign" yet I can't see the new skin in the EPG. I installed the skin from the LinuxSupportAddons menu. I assume I'm also supposed to select the skin from the following place?: Main Menu, Setup, System, Skin. When I did it said the skin isn't compatible with Blackhole 2.0.8. Any idea what versions it's compatible with? Seems strange the the Cool TV Guide works but the skin for it does not?!

I'm using Blackhole 2.0.8. I I followed that guide. The EPG is working now but the EPG looks Blue and pretty basic. I downloaded Cool TV Guide but I have a few problems:

The Cool TV Guide EPG does not show when I press the EPG button. Also on the channel list when I press 3 for MultiEPG, the Cool TV Guide is not shown, I only get the blue EPG. I can only access Cool TV Guide by holding the Blue button then selecting "Cool TV Guide".

In Cool TV Guide the channel names show in plain text (which is what I want) but the left and right part of the channel names are cut off so for example instead of seeing the channel name of "ITV4 HD" I can only see "V4 H". How can I change it so that the full name of the channel is shown?
