  • VU+ Duo - a few questions.

    Hey,


    I've got a few questions about the VU+ Duo, any one who has one I'd appreciate some responses.


    1.
    a) Can you use two outputs at the same time?
    b) Similarly, is it possible to use 3 or 4 outputs (HDMI, Scart, Composite, Component) in any combination at the same time?


    2. Can you separate the tuners in such a way that you can watch 'Tuner A' on the HDMI output, whilst 'Tuner B' is on another output? I know that would need some modification but is it possible?

    So you`ve got to decide whether you want a twin tuner (DUO) or single tuner (solo, uno) and high performance(duo, uno) or medium performance (solo).


    I'd prefer a twin tuner, but if the price is getting to much I'd be happy with a single tuner.


    Regarding performance, I really do not mind. As long as my card is clearing, sharing and I'm watching HD, I don't care. :)


    Are all models capable of internal hard drives? As in the future I may upgrade.

    Hey,


    I've recently decided to get a VU+, however I don't know which one?


    What I'm planning on doing is:


    1) Using the box to move a motorised dish.
    2) Running OSCAM + CCcam to clear & share my card.
    3) No plans on using a hard drive (yet)


    Any thoughts, suggestions, tips are welcome.

    Thanks lads, I'm considering getting a VU+ now. I can't be doing with the DM500, it's outdated. My mate said it's good with motors (and other stuff).


    I'll probably reflash it later this week.

    I currently have 4.8E stored on my DM500 in motor settings.


    I try nudging it either way to get a better signal, which happens. I 'store' the location again and exit. If I then change the channel from say Viasat Hockey to Viasat Motor, the DreamBox tells me to 'Wait whilst the motor moves to 4.8E' and the dish moves slightly.


    I then went back to motor set up and under 'mode' chose 'recalculate', again nudging the dish into a better position. I clicked 'recalc' and exited, changed channel again and the same thing happened, the dish moved back.


    Can someone help me? I'm getting annoyed with it!

    So, when I remove boxid and restart, I should look for that?

    The logs I use are from webif as no files are created in FTP.


    How do you know the boxid is not being read? Sorry if this seems like I am doubting you, I'm not at all, it's just without the boxid, Premier Sports would not clear. I will try again later though, see if this time it does.

    OSCAM is not randomly stopping, it only does that after I reboot the box.


    These errors appeared for the first time ever yesterday afternoon, after a few weeks of OSCAM clearing my card fine.

    The reason I ask is I can't clear anything with my card at the moment, LFC TV, Pick TV etc. My card works fine in the Sly box.


    I've got some weird errors in OSCAM and so once I fix them, hopefully it starts trying to use the card again for things like LFC TV at least.
