I've disconnect the wifi module and connected to it's header the front usb.

If I connect a DOK to the front usb i get a green power indicator for a second or so and then it turns off.

    lsusb doesn't find the device.

    What can be the problem?

What is the correct orientaion to connect the cable?

I bought this cheapy one for $21, so if the original sell for $50~$60, I'll prefer to buy another FAKE.
It's a real bummer, because I only just configured it to work properly, and I had barely a chance to use it.
In my enthusiasm I lost sight of patience and carefulness, did a ri*** move, that now i'm paying for it.

I'll try and contact my dealer for a replacement.

It's only software, how come I don't have access to reflash it? The manufacturer has access, no?
Is there really nothing else that can be done to recover it?

Do you think this is original?

Thank you, but it's not recognize by the pc any longer, so I can't communicate with it.

I tried what has been suggested here, but no dice.

I have smargo as seen here in the picture.
Do I have a fake for sure?

Can someone suggest a smargo that shipped with a newer firmware in case I will have to buy a new unit?
What is an original smargo cost?

Any other ideas to try to fix it?

tried it again from a version I downloaded from here: OScam Download Center

I get now in the serial part a picture of a square with some numbers in it:

    lsusb -v

Can you see the info i'm looking for?

I would prefer not to update the firmware for such a little thing, as I have currently v1.3, and it's working ok, and I also read it would be problamtic to revert the change after upgrade.

I didn't had smargo_list file but I found the file on the web.

    I get this output:

    Code
    root@deepspace:~/Desktop# ./list_smargo-i386-pc-linux
Looking for smartreader with an out endpoint = 0x82 :
    bus 006, device 003 : 0403:6001 Smartreader (Device=006:003 EndPoint=0x82 insert in oscam.server 'Device = Serial:?')

Serial is not listed. Is this because I didn't upgrade the firmware as you instructed?
Is there another way, which doesn't involve upgrading the fw?

Setting protocol = mouse and device = /dev/ttyUSB0, didn't recognize the card properly (entitlement not received).

Was able to confirm that my setup indeed works by connecting from my dreambox. :trbtjrjq:
Used oscam to oscam connection with cs35.

In my settings I put protocol = smartcardreader with device = 006:003 which work fine, but after every reboot or removing/reinserting the smargo I noticed that the usb device id change.

How can I fix this? Should I use a different protocol like mouse/internal/something else?
What is the difference BTW? The way you refer to to device connected?

I've just configured all of the above, and they all seems to work and recognized properly.

What i'm trying to do now, is to connect between the openpliPC and oscam to decode the channels.
I tried to add [dvbapi] like in my dreambox, but it didn't work.

Can some post the config needed for that?
In openplipc I don't need to install a softcam, right? It will detect to softcam from ubuntu, correct?

Is there a softcam plugin for kaffine (gnome3)?

    That actually helped.

It made me remember I use the autobackup plugin once alone time ago, and forgot about it.
I deleted the files and got no "surprises" waiting for me, finally.

It's actually a cool little feature when you know it's there... but it would help if it actually ASK you before hand.

Thanks nano for the quick fix.

I've a twilight zone mystery for you guys. I really don't know what to make of this...

I'm trying to flash a new openpli image and start my setup afresh.

I flashed a newly downloaded image for openpli with IE, but after its done flashing, the new image seems to retain some of the data from the previous install I had.

For example, I can see that my old extensions remind, and also the configs in /etc/tuxbox/config are still there.
Though it did clean some of the other data like my /usr/script and /etc/enigma2/ folders.

I tried to forcibly rm -r /usr and to flash it again, but the same thing just happened.
If I flash a different image then pli, the data finally erased, but if I flash openpli after that, it will just returned somehow.
I really don't get from were and how it seemingly "spawn" data from thin air.

After a pli image flash, I hit the rest button on the IE page, the stb begin to reboot, get stuck in an early stage at the boot sequence, I do a power cycle, then it boots again, take longer than usual but complete it's boot this time, and then I arrive to my current position.

Downloaded the image from here: OpenPLi-2.1-beta-dm800se

I get after a "fresh" openpli install a total of 11mb free.

My mount seems to be nothing special there... Only an internal hdd currently connected.

Anyone got a clue what the f'n box is doing? I'm at my wits end.

First time for everything, I guess...

    :59:

    P.S.
It's not a refresh thingy if it crossed your minds.
The plugins do show up in the plugin browser in enigma, and are active.

How can I run a script without always specific sh in front of the command?

The script is executable and have #!/usr/bin/sh as the first line.
I also added a symbolic link at /usr/bin/sh to point to /bin/busybox (it seemed like the correct thing to do...).

How can I make this work?

In HDGlass16, latest version, configuring the "Special info type" setting, doesn't disable the inbuilt help menu, and both help menu and "ecm and TP status" open at the same time.

How can I fix this? And how can I remove the help files from the system altogether? They are useless... Which files?
