Thanks the cableguy. I have already downloaded and installed the nftytool from wb electronics and havs set 3.58 line as I am sly as well so all that runs fine . my sever sees the wb electronics infinity reader fine but I cant get it to see the card.

OK I am using a infinity usb by wb electronics I have tested it on my pc and its ok. It maybe the serial to usb cable but I have to admit my server sees the pheonix progger when I do Lsusb so its reporting in to linux just wondering if it needs to be different in the config file as its over one of these cables

just had another thought ten below, it wouldn't be anything to do with the fact that I am not directly into a serial port on the server with the pheonix would it? I am using a serial to usb cable. does that affect the config lines as I just copied those from the tut as I notice the smagrgo has usb in its config

spose there is a small chance that the reader might be fooked. I have used it tho when I was doing cable used to read and write cards with it no probs. I could bang it on my pc and test it as I have a few cards I could test it with.

Hi Ten below, don't know if this means anything but when I ckick on the shares tab in cs studio it says this...

Hi Steve, so can you see the card on your server?

How do I do that mate is there a command I can run? sorry to be dumb still grasping linux

Just did a 192.168.0.xx:16001 and looked at entitlements it says card reader /dev/usb/tts/0 no card

also card reader /dev/ttys0 no card

hi Ten Below, thanks for response I have figured out how to see which tty port I am on its in the dmesg you showed me. I am deefo on ttyusb0 so my infinity config is correct.

I did what you said last night so I have in my server cfg file this...

    F: dreambox2 loft

and on my dreambox I have this.....

C: 192.168.0.xx 153xx dreambox2 loft ..... xxbeing the ip addy of my server

    ok guys,
tested my server yesterday and nowt:hell_boy: It set up all ok as per tuts both for server then cccam update then infinity usb connection. I updated the config file as per infinity setup instructions. Not sure how to see what serial port I am on Com 1 com2 etc so I can confirm my config is correct. Is there any test other than putting a card in the reader to make sure I have set it all up OK?

I change the Cline on my dreambox to point to the server IP addy.
The dreambox I was using that had the card in it was the box I used for the server cccam config file so all flines should be ok in that (i think)

    Any ideas guys? cheers

Hi Guys, am having trouble setting up VLC to stream movies from PC to DM800. I have followed Ten Belows tut on here and set it up as per instructions. I can get to the pc file structure and select a movie then it just has a blank screen then crashes green screen of death. My setup is as follows

PC is windows 7 64 bit. VLC is 1.1.0 full install (Firewall down for testing purposes)

DM800 clone with enigma2 experimental dated 19th 5 2011 with VLC plugin already as part of the image Bootloader 82 Sim 2.01

Anyone have any Ideas other than trying another image as the write up on this image says that VLC was working. Cheers Guys

hi ten below thankks for update I have already run that one. the one I ran b4 actually showed the tty0 tty1 etc. I will perservere and try and find it. I came across it when I wasresearching my usb to serial cable hl340. If I find it I will post it the lsusb shows this...

    root@steve67474:~# lsusb
    Bus 002 Device 004: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics HL-340 USB-Serial adapter
    Bus 002 Device 003: ID 1ea7:0002
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 104f:0001 WB Electronics Infinity Phoenix
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

can I relate this to the SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/ttyS0 3570000

cheers ten below it worked a treat. I have just finnished setting my pheonix card reader up using the great tut by master g. All seems good I have this in my config now
    SERIAL READER : /dev/ttyS0
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/ttyS0 3570000
    TRY ALL CHIDS : /dev/ttyS0
    BOXKEY : /dev/ttyS0 15 B6 xx xx
    SERVER LISTEN PORT : 153xx

I need to check I have the right ttys0 port. I know there is a command to list the ports as I ran it the other day but I cant find it now. I have run a lshw and it sees the pheonix ok but it doesnt give me the tty0/1 etc info any1 know it pls. cheers

config gile usually goes to home/cccam if you followed the tut . Then when you run the configupdate script it will take the config from home/cccam and put to var/etc. Even with gui on debian you should be able to remotely sign in as root user via putty as long as you have ssh installed etc

    new2

Thanks newtolinux but as I stated I dont have a cccam folder in my home folder the only cccam folder I have is in emu folder. Do I just copy that to my home folder?
This is my first go at setting up a linux server and followed ten belows excellent tut. it all wemt fine and I also did the cam update which also went fine. So am a bit confused as to why I dont have a cccam folder in my home folder. again cheers

    Hi Comysofa,
like you I am a newbie but have got past your hurdle. I am using three dreamboxes and I used a great tut that puts it in laymans terms. Cant remember where it was now but I have it as a word doc. I will paste it in here... Its long but is a really good un....Oh I assume u r only internal sharing ie using ur own sly card. Below is the relevant bit u need this talks about dreambox but it covers the c and f lines quite good. u also need ur boxkey. I assume u have that bit sorted................

if your using your own *** card and want to enter in your *** box boxkey in to cccam follow the instructions above to open cccam.cfg and scroll down to line 317 , the first thing as always is to delete the # symbol , now you will see BOXKEY:/dev/sci0 11 22 33 44 (where you see the boxkey example 11 22 33 44 edit this and enter your boxkey , as above click on file and click on exit and save and reboot your dreambox . now you can view all of your paid for channels including all sports and movies channels . i can only fit in so much in one post and so this tutorial will be over 3 to 4 posts . so in my next post i will talk about how to share your paid for *** card to a second box in your own home (this is called internal sharing )and how to share your paid for card with family or friends in their homes (this is called external sharing ) i will talk also about c lines and f lines ,and i hope at the end you will successfully card sharing . remember that on the whole the information in this tutorial can be used on nearly all models of dreambox not just a dm500s .

ok cardsharing in your own home (internal card sharing ) first you need to follow all the instructions in post 1 above to get your second box flashed setup and connected to your router ,now you have box 1 with your paid for *** card in it (this is called the server ) and you have box 2 in another room (this is called the client) you will need to put your server box c line in to cccam.cfg in the client box . how do i know what my c line is you ask ? , a c line is a line of information and the information in it consists of the server box ip address ,the default port which is 12000 , and a user name and password (of your choosing) example if your server box ip is 192.168.0.100 and you want to share your card to box 2 in your bedroom your c line would look like this C:192.168.0.100 12000 share1 bedroom ,your server box ip starts the line ,the default port for cs is 12000 and share1 is the user name and bedroom is the password ,again you can choose any user name and password . to find out what your server box ip address is press menu on your remote ,press 6 (setup) and open expert settings ,then open communication setup and you will find the ip of your box . so box 2 is setup and connected to your router and ready to go so open cccam.cfg and type in your c line as i explained in the last paragraph in post 1 ,then save and exit and reboot your box ,now your client box is ready to go but it still wont recieve the *** channels from the server box ,this is because the server box must have an f line . an f line for internal sharing only needs to be simple ,it only needs to contain the same user name and password that you used in the c line ,example F: share1 bedroom thats all you need , so in the server box open cccam.cfg as i explained above and scroll down to line number 24 and delete the # symbol as always and type F: and the user name and password you have chosen , dont forget the user name and password in the f line must be the same as those in the c line . save and exit and reboot your box ,you should now be successfully sharing your card to box 2 ,of course you can add box3 and 4 if you like just follow all of the instructions above .

PS dont use port 12000 (default) use summat like 16680 or make up ur own
