I'm not sure if I have all the same sources and providers that you had. This attachment just contains the installation folders from crossepg 0.8.6 that I downloaded from the plugins feeds onto Pur E2 6.2.

That was a good idea Gorski and I can confirm it does work.

I had crossepg 0.8.6 working on Pur E2 6.2.

I made a backup of these folders from the Pur E2 6.2 image:

/usr/crossepg

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/crossepg

Then I copied them into those same locations on the Pur E2 6.5 image and rebooted the box.

Now crossepg 0.8.6 is working for me on Pur E2 6.5 image.

Thanks for confirming that Gorski. I tried the zgemmah7-PurE2-6.2-20191029_usb image on my ZGemma H7s. Crossepg 0.8.6+gitr487 was in the plugin feeds (not the 0.8.7 version) and it did install and run fine. So something has changed in the newest Pur E2 image built for the H7s that is breaking crossepg it seems.

Because as I mentioned already in posts 1 and 16 of this thread.... whenever I try to install crossepg 0.8.7 from the Pur E2 plugins feeds it won't install properly for me and it is nowhere to be found in the Pur E2 menus on my Zgemma h7s. Do you understand me? Because I don't think you are following me at all :)

Of course you don't have to do this but I was wondering if you would try uninstalling crossepg on your Pur E2 image and then try to install it again from the plugins feed? The reason I'm asking this (for the second time) is because that might help me test if there is something wrong with the crossepg version that is in the Pur E2 feeds or is it something wrong at my end why it won't install for me.

Ok, so you actually uninstalled crossepg and then installed the latest version again from the feeds? Was it on a Zgemma H7S running PurE2-6.5-20200611? I'm trying to debug why it doesn't work for me.

As mentioned in my first post I know how to install and use crossepg. I have done so recently on OpenATV and OpenVix. The problem is that when I install it from the Pur E2 systemplugin feed it doesn't seem to install properly and I don't get any menu entries for it anywhere in Pur E2. I see the /usr/crossepg folder but no /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/crossepg folder.

So I'm wondering is there something maybe wrong with crossepg 0.8.7+gitr501 in the systemplugin feed? I dare you to uninstall your crossepg plugin and try to re-install it from the feeds again. Can you mention that to the developers please?

No worries Gorski. Well maybe there is a common problem with EPG Import and CrossEPG not running on Pur E2. Will be interesting to hear what the coders have to say.

In my case I have a very simple EPG need so I never had to deal with crossepg headaches.. as long as crossepg runs it seems to get the epg data I need from that one satellite transponder. And now Abu explained another way I can get that epg from the same satellite transponder source so I'll probably just switch to the built in OpenTV reader anyway.

Still I hope the Pur E2 developers get Picture in Graphics working. Having the TV screen in the EPG gives a wow effect and when it's missing you notice it.. apart from that enigma2 images are just screens and screens of menus. I think the estuary skin is so much better looking than any other enigma2 image. So I would say it's important to get that feature working to recruit and retain a Pur E2 user base.

Hi Abu,

I never understood how the EPG reader works in OpenATV/OpenVix and Pur E2 images. I had another look there in this Pur E2 image I'm playing with now and saw your post over on techkings.

I enabled the OpenTV EPG in the Pur E2 EPG settings then switched to the IEPG data 1 channel and after a minute or so I have a full seven day epg on all my Astra 28.2 channels. So the built in EPG reader combined with EPG Refresh will actually work in the same way I was using crossepg. Really awesome.

Unfortunately I am on a mission. I am only interested in crossepg. I don't care if it was not very useful for you or others when you last tried it either. I just want to know can the version currently in the Pur E2 plugin feeds (crossepg 0.8.7) install and run on Pur E2. Can you help me find out?

I am looking for EPG data for the Free to Air channels on Astra 28.2E. I normally use the OpenTV provider in Crossepg and find it always gives more complete EPG data than XMLTV sources such as RyTec etc.. In my situation I just use crossepg to get the epg data from the satellite transponder so no messing around with downloading scripts and other things from the internet hence in my particular case crossepg is exactly what I need and is better than any alternative I know of.

Why is CrossEPG in the Pur E2 Plugin feeds if it doesn't work on it? Did you ever manage to get it to install and run in Pur E2 Gorski?

I should have asked: Can I see the little tv screen playing the current channel when in the EPG and using the Estuary skin in Pur E2?

I tried installing the PLI FullHD skin but when I click on the EPG button the epg screen is not filling up the whole available space on my TV screen, see attached pic please. I prefer the Estuary Skin so was hoping I could get the TV screen in the EPG on the Estuary skin. Is that possible?

Default Estuary skin (also tried PLI FullHD skin)

When I download crossepg from the plugin feeds to my zgemma h7s running Pur E2 it doesn't appear in the Plugins or EPG menus. Even after rebooting still no sign of it. If I go to Remove Plugins it shows up there as a plugin that can be removed. /usr/crossepg is created but /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/crossepg is not.

Does CrossEPG work on Pure E2 running on a ZGemma H7s?

Hello,

I'm setting up Pur E2 on a ZGemma H7S today. I really like the menus that remind me of Kodi. I find the menu text easier to read compared to skins on other images.

The only thing I am missing so far is the little television screen when I open the EPG. Image attached. Is that possible in Pur E2 or not?

I wasn't restarting the Zgemma after installing the CrossEPG plugin. I tried installing crossepg again from the plugin feeds. After it installed I immediately restarted the Zgemma and now CrossEPG works when I try to run it.

Some else had a similar problem reported here but they never actually found a fix. I read another post in which someone had a similar problem which turned out to be with skin.xml on theirs but I haven't changed anything on my OpenATV skin. I just use the default Metrix HD skin.

Well I have been at this for a few days now and have ried lots of things...

Crossepg downloads and installs fine in openvix-5.3.034.release-zgemmah7_usb

I tried installing OpenATV 6.3 and also 6.4 from scratch then installing crossepg 0.8.7 from the plugin feeds. Each time crossepg crashes when I go into Setup > EPG > CrossEPG.

I also tried installing these versions on OpenATV but they also didn't work:

enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.8.6-20180927_all.ipk

enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.6.2_OE2-r2_all.ipk

When I was originally setting up my ZGemma H7S it crashed on me when I was installing an image into the slot2 partition. I ended up flashing openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20200607_recovery_emmc.zip using a USB key in the back of the box. Then everything was working fine again. Would this have corrupted something in the Linux filesystem of my ZGemma? Should I do a fresh hardware/software reset of the whole box and start again with a fresh OpenATV image? Do you now how to do that?

A friend of mine has the same set up as me and crossepg 0.8.7 does install from the feeds and run fine for him under OpenATV 6.4 so there must be something wrong with my box I think.

And help much appreciated.

My Problem:

I go to the plugin feeds in OpenATV 6.4 and install the systemplugin: cross epg 0.8.7+gitr497. Crossepg seems to install but crashes when I go to run the plugin. Here is the error log: enigma2_crash_1592008860.log

I have since got it working on OpenATV 6.4 on my ZGemma H7s by copying these folders from a friends OpenATV 6.4 backup image:

/usr/crossepg

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/crossepg

But why does crossepg 0.8.7 crash on me when I try to run it after downloading it from the OpenATV plugin feeds?

Sorry to bother you about this!

Did you get any time to try those commands above? I asked someone else who has a H7S and a 4TB usb drive ext4 formatted. When they connected their 4TB drive to the H7S it saw the drive but would not mount it. Now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't get the H7S after all. If I could confirm that it has CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION support in its kernel would give me confidence to buy it. It's because I need to use the GPT partition type with ext4 filesystem.
