    seems to me the provider ID you need to use is '03FD6C'
    Where you have your provider id (ident) set as '000000', try changing it to 03FD6C

    in other words- ident = 0640:000000 change to ident = 0640:03FD6C
    and in newcamd setting - port = 9000@0640:000000 change to port = 9000@0640:03FD6C

    probably something to do with the file structure - make sure the USB stick is formatted first, and then unzip keeping the directory structure of the original zip file, in other words, when you unzip make sure it doesn't create an extra folder, and if it does, don't copy the extra folder, copy instead the unzipped folder that it contains. The folder that goes on the USB stick should be 'et9000' and inside this folder there should be the bootloader files.

    Try removing any devices (usb drives, HIDs etc) connected to the receiver then try to reboot. Maybe even try to remove the internal HDD if there is one connected and try again. If it reboots, the issue will be something to do with maybe a bad device or corrupt drive causing it to freeze on boot. If it still doesn't work and you can't FTP in the box, then you might have to reflash, and you will have learned a lesson that it is good to back up your image often!

    Is there any reason why you would want to use puppy? - never used this myself but as a pointer, if you are looking to get CCcam to work on a light linux install (ie on a netbook for example) - then I had no issues getting it to work on Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Remix, and this was installed from a live CD to a USB. It installs the same way as it would on the full Ubuntu install. I am sure there are forums around specifically for Puppy that will give you more info on things such as directory structure and navigation, root access etc, but if you want things set up quicker then you might want to go with Ubuntu as the install script works!

    You can get your valid sly card to work in the Vu+ no problem at all. If this is all you want to do then it is easier than you think. If you install TSpanel as described here, you can download a softcam that is already taylored to your needs.

    Surely you only have your sharing port open, which you can choose as whatever you want. Port 16001, 8888, 21, 80, and whatever else you might use on your own network is in your network only, so long as you have only opened the sharing port on your router that you are using for sharing. The default sharing port is 12000 but most of us change this anyway to whatever we want. If you only have this port open on your router then you have nothing to worry about with other ports. If you do go opening up your ports on your router just because it is used internally, then you are asking for trouble, and I mean from hackers, not your provider.

    It is very simple - just download the image, unpack, and there are three files- vmlinux.gz, burn.bat, and rootfs.img. just put these straight on the root of a formatted USB flash drive. Place the USB flash drive in the USB port at the back, switch the GigaBlue off and on, and wait about half an hour. The front LED will tell you that it is loading and will count up to 100 a couple of times, and just make sure when it has been installed you remove the flash drive before doing any full restart.

    Not sure you have bricked it, there is always a reflash - When I used to mess with things more, it is something I got used to doing. When you are editing stuff there is always the possibility that things will go wrong so it is important that you back things up if you don't want to start from scratch. It isn't that bad starting from scratch and once you get used to it it begins to take minutes rather than hours!

    If you have changed something, you need to know what you have changed to put it right - if you are on a boot loop you still might be able to FTP into your receiver to undo anything you have done. Also 'cause you were messing with networks and drives, try to reboot without any drives, devices or networks attached.

    But if all else fails, then it might be best and quicker to start from the beginning!

    If you mean you want to log in using FTP from outside your local network then you would have to make sure that you have opened the FTP port 21 on your router (forward it to your server's local IP on the router the same way you forwarded the sharing port). If you have a dns address use this as address (or IP address if it is static), your server's username, password, and port 21. make sure you have a strong password.

    I take it you are sharing your card with 1 reshare? Any more than that then it would be asking for trouble. Depending on the size of the servers of the people you are sharing with, there could be a lot of people using your card anyhow, which would cause issues. Have you monitored your server during the 3pms to see how it is going? Maybe if you disable reshares maybe for one saturday at 3pm you might see a difference. I think the problems with Tring recently would mean more people are looking at alternatives.

    ecmwhitelist format is incorrect format so would have been inactive and ineffective, so channels would be clearing regardless as all ECM lengths would be accepted.
    It should be;

    Code
    ecmwhitelist = 0500@042400:52,57;0500@042410:52,57;0500@FFF920:52,57

    Press the Green button, then the Yellow button, then scroll down to 'Addons Uninstall Panel', or use tspanel to uninstall - ('menu,tspanel,Uninstaller'), or another way is to ftp into the box and delete the specific plugin folder - which can usually be found in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions - remember if you do it this way - best do a backup!

    whether you should mount nfs or cifs depends on the NAS drive you are accessing. If you are accessing a Windows share, then it would usually be CIFS - however a lot of NAS shares are NFS - so best checking - for example I have an Iomega iConnect and I have to mount this as CIFS. If you are unsure try both.
