Any help will be very much appreciated

Hi,
you just need to realign your dish
The Dm boxes reduce signals a bit,
you dont need a dual lnb,a single lnb can just do the trick
Thanks -
Hi guys,
Am going to explain explicitly how one can track hispasat in west Africa region
I must be sincere to say this,to get good channels from hispasat one should get a bigger dish with a minimum of 3.0M Dish (10 feet)
There are two satellite hosting the hispasat package <<Hispasat 1D/1E>>
Hispasat 1E from the footprint looks so close to us here in west Africa yet so far, whereas 1D seems so far but little closer to us
This experiment was carried out on a Eurostar 2.4M(8feet) Prime Focus Solid dish with modified Fuji lnb
Receiver/Decoder used was strong decoder SRT 4669Z and channels later scanned on 4922A MODEL to obtain the tps posted in this tut
Those on motorized setup have no problem than to aligh their dishes accurately and just input the right tp.
>> ID and 1E beams respectively <<
To track hispasat 1D,one has to be focused, patient, and really determined since it’s a fringe reception and requires little experience and accuracy.
First and formost,we need to track a satellite closest to hispasat, and the best is intelsat 25@ 31.5w
>> intelsat 25W @ 31.5W <<
>>here is footprint of intelsat 25@ 31.5w
It has two tps for west African beam
Track this satellite and make sure you have maximum frequencies>>full bar @ 4oclock lnb position
Then input any tp from hispasat 1D preferably 12594 H 4444 a feed with very high frequency, better still you can use 12380 V 27500
By just lowering the dish and moving to your left in millimeters, and you might hit green with little patience.
>>these are the tps I was able to pick upHowever one tp was picked up from 1E satellite
>>some pix of hispasat…sorry about the poor image quality
That’s all, happy hunting

my apologies for another noob question but is a sold dish better than a mesh one or is the mesh one just for the wind to pass through better
thanks
kevSolid dishes are meant or works best with ku band reception whiles mesh dishes works best with C-band reception
however the reverse is also possible, especially with mesh dishes for ku band reception, rain fade is always not a problem

I use 5m solid dish with a invacom lnb and in west africa i tracked nilesat with only 210 channel and hispasat 1E with 355 channel there mostly scrambled channel and i understand there are fringe channel and i want to know if i can get more channels on nilesat
hi bud,
Good to see you are back..
I have always emphasized that "the" powerful LNBS for europe and america dont work so well for us folks here in Africa
secondly I think your setup is not well aligned....bcos a 5 meter dish should even get you satellite from northern Russia or southern America :36_002:
I have a post here in this great forum.....About the modified lnb....its works like charm
you can read here How to increase signal by 3-4% on prime-focus dish and also see the modified lnb
or better still you can PM me for better assistanceSanté !!!!!

Hi guys,
i have some doubts on xpicons and Picons
what's the difference, and how do u know an image can work with xpicons or not
I also see 220×200 32bit/8 bit etc
Please I need clarification
thanks -
Don't worry your head mate, it's because of cheap electronic components used to manufacture the box
no way out, just get the original

Hi folks
Many guys here are well vexed with file permissions and how to chmod files, but I had always wondered what it was until I did a little read up on Google, and this is what I got
For those who don’t understand why it’s always been said chmod 777/755/644….etc.
May be you will appreciate them after reading this tutorialLet’s start
In Unix/Linux whenever you check the property of any file, under the permissions tab, there are 3 categories of users of the file
Code
Display More• Owner (the owner of the file and by default has read and write permissions) • Group (Any group the owner might belong and by default has read permissions) • Others (Other users on the operating system, and by default have read only permissions)
PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED
Code
Display More[COLOR='#FF0000']Read permission[/COLOR]: The user can only open the file to see the content without being able to modify the content of the file. [COLOR='#FFA500']Write permissio[/COLOR]n: The user can open the file with a text editor and change/modify the contents by deleting, adding and saving the new settings. [COLOR='#00FF00']Execute permission[/COLOR]: which gives the user the right to run the file as a program. Execute the file as a program if it’s a binary file or a shell script
All the file permissions read, write, execute have certain numeric values associated with them
Code
Display MoreRead has a numeric value of [COLOR='#FF0000']4[/COLOR] Write has a numeric value of [COLOR='#FFA500']2[/COLOR] Execute has a numeric value of [COLOR='#00FF00']1[/COLOR]
QuoteWhich means that at best a file can have a numeric value of 7, which is 4+2+1=7
So a file created in Unix/Linux by default has
Code
Display MoreOwner -read and write permission which is 4+2=6 Group -read permission which is 4 Others -read permission which is 4
QuoteSo by default any file created in Linux has 644 permission
UMASK
Umask is a system variable in Linux, when you type umask in the terminal you get a value 0022
But we consider the value 022.Now when a file is created what Linux does is that it subtracts the value of umask from 666 for a file and 777 for a directory, so by default a file has 644 permissions and a directory has 755 permissions.HOW TO CHMOD IN TERMINAL
Change directory or cd to the directory where the file is located
e.g.Quotecd /usr/bin/
Now let’s assume you file is called kingjj
So we can change permissions to 644 by typingQuotechmod 644 kingjj
Or simply type
Quotechmod 644 /usr/bin/kingjj

Hello Guys
I have just installed BH Image version 2.0.9. I had version 2.0.8 beforehand.
Please could some one tell me where do I put the cccam.fig file now? In the older version I had it in the etc folder.
Best regards,
Hadyn - IOM
hi mate,
you can install CCcam on Blackhole from the linuxsat addons panel
or manually by putting bin file in usr/bin chmod 755
*CCcam.cfg goes into etc chmod 644,so the location is the same
*there is also a backup image for 2.1.1,pretty recent than the 2.0.9
Thanks -
Thanks for the scripts....everything has gone well now...all is cristal clear :bravo::mrg:
