  • I submitted fixes for BBC iPlayer - everything should be working now apart from stuff under the Live menu. :fingers crossed:

Live was the only thing that was working last time I checked... Can you reverse only that part, please?

A number of things (like the one above or film addons) don't work, even with (or without) VPN with English address....

This immaturity is self-incurred if its cause is not lack of understanding, but lack of resolution and courage to use it without the guidance of another. The motto of enlightenment is therefore: Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding!"

  • Please,you can reapair

hd-streams.org ("No valid links available") and synonymous with hdfilme.tv ("No valid links available") does not work

    Thanks for the repair

I've not taken over the plugin, I'm just contributing. I only use BBC iPlayer. All the plugin source is available here: https://gitlab.com/e2i/e2iplayer.

These are the modules that you probably need to fix for those two:

    https://gitlab.com/e2i/e2iplay…er/hosts/hosthdstreams.py

    https://gitlab.com/e2i/e2iplay…er/hosts/hosthdfilmetv.py

Get involved. At the very least get a debug log and post an issue on gitlab.

I haven't made any changes to the Live section. It will work (or not) exactly as it did before.

As above. Have a look at the source and at least raise a ticket on gitlab.

The only way to resurrect this as a public plugin is if people get involved.

  • Sadly, without or with Surfshark VPN I can not get Live BBC channels any more, with E2iPlayer, even though I live in the UK... But it can not see which country it is and that is probably the reason why Live channels are not working...

I carefully tested with restarts between changes of public address - but I am missing 2 files in E2iPlayer:

    C subtitle parser and

    python-cjson

  • I don't think it is the VPN in this case. I'm not using one and the Live channels don't work for me either. When did they last work for you?

I think the the BBC have changed things at their end.

I can't suggest much for the other issues - when I install a new plugin it prompts to install missing dependencies. I did find an old forum post on another site talking about a similar issue and the solution was to completely uninstall and reinstall.

Instructions based on e2iplayer site (note: I haven't tested this!):

    Code
    rm -rf /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
    cd /tmp
    wget https://gitlab.com/e2i/e2iplayer/-/archive/master/e2iplayer-master.tar.gz
    tar -xzf e2iplayer-master.tar.gz -C /tmp
    rm e2iplayer-master.tar.gz
    cp -r e2iplayer-master/IPTVPlayer /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
    rm -rf e2iplayer-master/IPTVPlayer

    sync
    reboot

If your images plugin feed dont have the dependency files in the feed then it want work.

I have attached the latest version for Blackhole image but it might work on others just try if not uninstall :)

  • Guys do you think a person who does not have any knowledge of python should try to use this plugin?

I used to use it and auto update it. But now it is not updating and most of the things gone.

Is it worth to spend time on it for person like me?

  • 1) Good to know, thanx! My version seems to behave the same way...

    2) 14th April, as you can see the details here: BBC iplayer and ITV player

    3) PurE2 image has the E2iPlayer dependencies package in the feeds, plus the E2iP itself, made from a cloned E2iP GIT, so generally speaking it works. But not for all the issues...

3a) Truth is, today some images have ffmpeg package built in. For instance, PurE2 now has 4.1.3 version for most of its images, except HiSilicon ones, which is on v. 3.4.2, which complicates things, for various reasons, as E2iPlayer, Kodi, ServiceApp, FNC plugins etc. might either bring in their own ffmpeg packages or rely on the ones present in E2 or brought in by other plugins, like ServiceApp.

3b) E2iPlayer used to put them in a special folder, so it didn't interfere with the built-in ones, which I don't see nowadays, sadly... Please, have a look here:

    0d35a.jpg

So, while it was still IPTV Player, SSS used "iptvplayer_rootfs" folder for his version of ffmpeg (not in /usr/bin - don't look there) but on the left side up, under root, immediately...

    4) For some reason, E2iPlayer (made as described above) - from PurE2 feeds - detects all the missing files during the initial setup, after installation - and installs them all, except the 2 noted ones, where it gets in a loop... Reinstallation does not help, so I am thinking some missing file in PurE2, maybe... But I suspect that those 2 missing files wouldn't really make any difference in terms discussed here anyway (BBC iPlayer addon playing Live channels)...

So, see if this helps and do tell, please... ;)

Any relevant info on this version, please? I haven't tested it yet...

  • Who are the devs here, guys? Where do we send feedback, please?

    Thanx!

If you are a regular user of any plugin there is no need for python coding skills

But of cause if you want to get involved in the development then those skills would be nice to have :)

And we all have to start from scratch. Look at KiddaC started with no or very limeted knowledge a year ago

and are self learend and are now coding one of the most popular plugins there is for Enigma2

So maybe you are the next to break out ;)

If an plugin is autoupdate or not dont deside if its good or not its up to any user. Many plugins need to be updated

    with a regular ipk upgrade.

And this plugin was and amazing one for many years and still are for some people but its up tou you if you still

    find some use of it.

  • Has anyone installed TSIplayer plugin in E2iplayer?

After installing, plugin is missed in Plugins, and get message "cannot import name Get Cmdwrap Path".

Whether and you see the same error, or is better nothing to install.

    Thanx!

Sorry but we have no one from the team and author(samsamsam) doesn`t offer support on forum

Try here, maybe you are lucky and you find some answers:wink:

    http://www.iptvplayer.gitlab.io/

  • No, misunderstanding: I meant the guys who are compiling from the GIT now, not original coders, since I am well aware of SSS's stance re. support etc.

So, not the original coder(s) but the guys compiling what we are getting in terms of ipks nowadays, after SSS stopped...

For instance, PurE2 have cloned the original GIT and the E2iPlayer in PurE2 feed is coming from there...

I suppose it is not dissimilar to the one I attached a couple of posts above... ;)

Clarification: SSS is opposed to any XXX stuff in E2iPlayer but as you can see, the above one has that stuff included. It means, he is not doing these ipk's, ergo the question is - who is? Where do we send the feedback, whose work is this?
