  • What I don't understand is that when I reinstall everything, everything works fine at first. But as soon as I do a new EPG import, everything is gone again.

there is an option called "Clearing current EPG before import", I keep that as No - in EPG Import Configuration

that helped me out in a similar issue

That should not make any difference epg.dat file should still be saved but if epg.dat is corrupted then it can help.

  • you said epg import has no fuction to set where to save epg that is done in epg settings remember some do not even use epgimport but epg storage device still has to be set for satellite e.t.c.
on openatv it is in Menu > Setup > EPG > EPG Setings

  • Thanks for your help. I don't think there is any dat on the new DB Two, only .db. For me, delete is also set to no. But what can I do? I've already reinstalled everything twice :(

I use NN2 and I don't think this setting exists there. There is epgbackup from gutemine where you can set it up but I don't want any plugins from gutemine

I dont know I don't have a dreambox or nn2 but i would still think there would be somewhere to set epg. out of interest do you have multiboot can you not just try openatv on another slot. or hopefully someone who uses that image can help.

    Edit:
just read on NN2 there is Epg CacheSelector plugin not sure if still available i was reading an old post

  • I don't have a multiboot and I don't like ATV :) The epg.db is 24,621,055. The EPG is really driving me crazy, I can't reinstall the box every day to make it work. Thanks anyway.

Maybe someone else will get in touch, otherwise all the plugins will be removed and I'll only watch via Xklass. I'm also thinking about selling the new DB again, just the trouble with the stupid box. With the Vu everything is easier and everything is much, much faster. I'm never getting a DB in my house again.

  • Reinstalled EPG again, EPG is running, pressed epg import and everything disappeared again. I have never come across such a crappy box as the DB. Now I'm selling this crap and buying a second Vu.

  • You mentioned gutemine on a previous post. If you have ever installed the gutemine virus on your box, he/she/it deletes files from other peoples plugins.
You have 2 choices. Use gutemine stuff only and no other 3rd party plugins or completely reflash your box and never install anything from gutemine and then use any plugins you like without fear of files being deleted or plugin code being tampered with.

I don't have a dreambox, and seagen who used to be my helper for dreambox issues is no longer on the forum. So I am not much help to you.

  • Here is a list of all the bevy.be epg sources.

There are far too many off them (192 sources) to add them into the plugin for all users.

    To use

copy the ones you want in to /etc/enigma2/jediepgxtream/epglist.txt

In JediEPGXtream - select each new source and click update before assigning. (you only need to do this once for each - then sporadically to check for updates occassionally)

I like the philosophy of this site. https://www.bevy.be/
Which basically is - why are 10000s of people all doing the same thing and scraping the same epg data, so why not have a central source for it.
This site is free at the moment (I doubt it will remain free) - but while it is free and functioning off donations. If you find their epg sources useful, do the right thing and drop them a small donation via their website.

  • I keep saying this... I am trying to finish off all my jobs... and finally move away from my enigma2 work.
But this plugin was designed very quickly as proof of concept. It was never meant to be popular. But JEX is one of my most downloaded plugins.
So I might,.... quote "might", write a proper version of this plugin with a bit more functionality and ease of use.

Never say never. :upside down face:

Yes ,as far as I can see it is a godsend to some who do not have any epg from provider and even if they do jex can fill in the ones that are missing ,

for me personally I use it for just say xxx so only realy using one source even though there are lots.

So i disable ones I do not need but as you will know when i flash online with restore settings when jex installs it adds all the sources again so I use myrestore.sh to add the only ones i need back

    rm -rf /etc/enigma2/jediepgxtream/*.txt > /dev/null 2>&1

    rm -rf /etc/enigma2/jediepgxtream/*/*.txt > /dev/null 2>&1

    tar -xvzf /media/hdd/backup_openatv_gbquad4k/enigma2settingsbackup.tar.gz etc/enigma2/jediepgxtream/ -C /

    sleep 5

So I don't know if there is any other way around this if when it installs as to not add all sources if jediepgxtream folder is already

    present in /etc/enigma2/

  • Well in ideal world we have a settings file with json data.

The we have a setup page where you can select your source choices you are going to use.

Then we also shortlist what sources potentially have that epg in.
We remove all the manual txt file editting.

As I said... It was proof of concept originally that just worked. So it never got the bells and whistles

    Hello,

thank you very much for the detailed answer. Maybe you misunderstood me. I do NOT have any plugins from gutemine, and I do NOT want any time bombs on my DB.

I have found the error. Here is the solution, maybe this doesn't happen to professionals, but I've only been using IPTV for 5 weeks and when you have little experience with it, funny things happen.

If you install BMX, the instructions say that you have to tick the box for epgimporter under BouquetMakerXtream. If you now also install JediEPG Importer, it also says that you have to tick Jedi EPG.

I have tested a lot and it took me 3 days of work. If you install both plugins, tick ONLY Jedi EPG, NOT BouquetMakerXtream. I have tested it several times, if both plugins are ticked, all EPGs disappear after the restart.

So if you have a DB Two with NN2, ONLY tick Jedi EPG, then it will work without problems. I think this will help beginners who have little experience with IPTV.

Thanks to kidacc for the great plugins he makes, and I will certainly donate something. :winking face:

  • But that should not be happening you should be able to select iptv providers from BouquetMakerXtream, xstreamity, xklass and Jedi epg xtream.

    in epgimporter.

I do and my epg is not deleted.

  • You have a different box and a different image. Xklass, Xstreamity has always run without problems with EPG. I've tested it X times, always the same problem, and my box is freshly installed, it's only 5 weeks old, and I've only recently set it up. Anyway, if anyone has the same problem with DB Two and NN2, they can try my solution.

  • Your testing of epg may work for you. But that is not the correct solution.

BouquetMakerXtream Source is your providers EPG data.
JediEPGXtream Source is your assigned EPGs from your chosen 3rd party sources.

So I will make the assumption your iptv providers EPG is huge, which is maybe causing memory problems.
This might be why it works if you turn off BMX epg.

BouquetMakerXtream Source is your providers EPG data.

I understand the function of BouquetMakerXtream, I was also surprised that it doesn't work. But I thought if it works in Xclass and Xstreamity it must also work in BMX, but it doesn't.

You're probably right, my provider has almost 40,000 TV channels. :see no evil monkey: In BMX I have about 1,500.

I set EPGImport to automatically import the EPG every day at 7:00 a.m. This morning 6145 events were imported again, but unfortunately all EPG data is now gone again. :face with steam from nose: I am starting to despair.

I am downloading 283703 events and my epg.dat file is not deleated but as KiddaC mentioned could be memory problems as to where epg.dat is getting saved.

    Capture.PNG

  • And maybe set the epg to run later. Most epgs have a least 48 hours of data. So it doesn't have to be so early.

And also make sure times on epgs/auto updates for other plugins are set to a time before epg importer runs.

** A person who feels appreciated will always do more than what is expected **

  • For me, today at 7:00 there were 25132 events. I also only have one provider and don't need more. I would also like to outsource my epg.db to my NAS, but all the forums say that it is not possible with the DB Two and it also has enough storage space.
