Problem with openatv 7.3

    you can change password using passwd command or set ftp "passwordless" (which is my favourite option for local access) . Second option require some change in pam or s4aupdater plugin that will do it for You.

    directly from the menu of your image, go to / menu / parameters / system / network and password setup and then with your remote control and the numeric keypad, write the password you want, then green button to save, a countdown will indicate that the password is saved and you can use it immediately....

    Login with putty in Telnet mode (NOT SSH), then type command passwd, and it will allow to setup a password (you will have to enter it twice).


    This done, your box will be accessible via FTP (WinSCP) and SSH (Putty), naturally as well Telnet (Putty or Windows Command Line)

    It is not necessary to use telnet if you want to change the password. The password must be the same one you use in the FTP tool (my password is the standard "dreambox"). If you cannot connect, check the FTP status in Menu - Settings - System - Network - FTP Settings.
