If we boot a different image in slot 2 and scan and save channels do we lose all the settings for the image in slot1 or do we get an additional file system with a different lamedb etc?

Each multiboot image is completely independent, you can do what you want and install what you want on each location.....Hello and thank you are not options either.....
-
They are independent. They won't get lost provided you do not flash over the partition. You can save the channel list to your PC, boot into another partition, transfer the chanenl list into other partition. You can use openwebif or a channel editor like E-channelizer/Dremboxedit/Dreamset

Thank you.

I don't know. Are you sure that you are not talking about open multiboot plugin which is different to what is being discussed here.

Yes I am sure, Multiboot v1., I think the problem in startup files or something

If you want to access the other internal slots from the current image, add this line to /etc/fstab:
/dev/mmcblk0p16 /media/Flash auto defaults 0 0
(where "Flash" you can give any name you like).

Actually I was talk about external slots, I have 4 internal by default and 18 external slots on memory SDcard, plus external hdd connected by USB

You must mount all slots in fstab to each image.
Take a look of my fstab file.

Thanks to share your file with me, but it didn't work even with direct replace,
What I have just my USB hdd and internal flash for the running image,
In Devices Manager I have the following
device /dev/sdb1 mounted as /media/hdd
The SDcard
/dev/sda1 mounted as none

What is multiboot v1?

Oh, you are using a plugin. You are not using hardware multiboot. I will move your pots to your own thread.
-
My fstab file definitely won't work for you because I have the external slots on different partitions than yours.
You should edit the fstab according to your own data.
You can mount slots with Mount Manager, but it's easier with fstab, as long as you know which partition each slot belongs to.

With respect to the OP's query is there a way to SHARE lame.db and oscam with other compatible boot slots ?
I always thought it would be a good idea to use any image you want with the ability to switch to another and have that image reflect any changes made by scanning new channels etc. while using a previous slot/image.
-
The only way to do that is by stopping enigma2 by command line, moving the lamedb files, bouquets files (or the etc/enigma2 folder) to a shared mount point and then create a symlink to it on every image.
Otherwise, Transfer to PC, boot into other image, transfer back.

It is possible using AJPanel. Back up the ones you are interested in and restore them in the next image.

You would have to do this every time you change to another image so that's a non-starter.

This might work but my limited linux knowledge might make more trouble for me than it would solve.
I wonder if this is something the image makers would be interested in adding so that it can be done behind the scenes by toggling a switch ?
