OpenATV-8.0 beta image for all

It's a shame, but like OpenATV 7.6, Kodi doesn't work on the Octagons F8008. It installs fine, but when you launch a program, the screen goes black and then the tuner crashes, forcing you to restart the device. This happens with OpenATV and Pure2; it works for other programs.

This is openatv thread but the fact you say it does not work with Pure2 is different matter and what does it works for other programs mean.

and thought you had stopped using it Kodi don't works fine on octagon sf8008

but a crash log would help.

stick to open tv 7.6 it just plays all the time

On my Vu+ DUO 4KSE I tyried twice to flash on line from 7.6 but it remained in boot loop after fast restore.

Now back to 7.6

File Commander cannot run *.sh script files, it can only read and edit them. Versions up to March 15, 2026 were able to do this.

Starting from the 27.03.2026 build, it's not possible to run a script on a USB drive from within the file manager. Selecting "OK" just open the *.sh file but doesn't run it anymore.

what is the difference between 7.6 and 8.0 any new option in new 8 or fast working then 7.6 or any plugin work in 8.0 which is not work in 7.6

please explain new of version 8.0 thanks

There is no feed for 8.0, and not much is going to happen there in the next six months either. Builds have already started, but a lot still needs to be optimized and reworked, and E2 features for 8.0 have not even been implemented yet.

For the Octagon sf8008 4K, take some Oscam .ipk, copy it to the /tmp folder, click on Oscam and select installation from the drop-down menu. You must be connected to the internet for Oscam to install properly, and then restart the receiver. This procedure applies to all versions of OpenATV.

I did that already and didnt work,

s2gus24 had the working solution, just have to keep that install line somwhere for future reference

The softcam feed referenced by urie has always worked for me, with both previous and current releases.

I suggest not to use the black colour for text, people that uses the dark style for the forum pages can hardly see it or not at all.

The OSCam issue has been resolved after installing libdvbcsa.

However, I am still experiencing several crashes and Python errors:

1. ValueError: list.remove(x): x not in list
2. AttributeError: 'SoftcamSetup' object has no attribute 'onChangedEntry'
3. AttributeError: 'MessageBox' object has no attribute 'activeComponents'
4. RuntimeError: Modal open are allowed only from a screen which is modal

These errors seem to occur during GUI interactions (closing screens, opening dialogs, or using Softcam setup).

It looks like there may be compatibility issues between Enigma2 (Python3), the current SoftcamSetup plugin, and possibly the skin.
