    Dear friend, I've been using OpenATV images practically since they came out.

    I know very well what I'm talking about.

    If you want to learn, you have to read what the person helping you says; if you don't want to, that's your problem.


    Here are three photos to show you how to configure the language in OpenATV images right at the beginning.


    If you notice, the menu isn't the same as the one you're using because what appears in the photos only appears once after the image is installed. If you look closely, it's the first thing you have to do; only then do you configure the HDMI and everything else.

    Unless you mean something different by IPtoSAT. In that case, please explain what exactly you mean by it.

    For example, I have a prototype plugin here for the new DVB-I standard, but at the moment there are basically no usable channels available yet, except in New Zealand.

    The topic here is about the image of version openatv-8.0, not version openatv-7.6.


    Unfortunately, you're providing incorrect information and an image that doesn't provide clear evidence. If you want to prove your point, change the image to Arabic, then go to the image's information and upload a picture that demonstrates your claim.

    The language selection process was never fixed properly. The restart at first install wizard after selecting language was a partial fix. This was only added within the last couple of years, I raised the issue on their GIT repository. Previously you had to press the red button during the FIW to change language. Even then, some texts were never translated fully until the restart.


    You must be able to change language even after the image has been configured. This works for other languages, so something needs to be addressed. Perhaps a dependency for right to left languages needs to be installed?

    Hello, I installed the OpenATV 8.0 beta version on my DreamBox Two on June 6, 2026. I have a CI+ module and I'm installing enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-ciplushelper_5.8-r3 to watch the CI+ channel. This opens the CI+ channel, but I'm encountering the following error: when navigating through the module channels, the remote control becomes unresponsive for about 3 minutes. After uninstalling enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-ciplushelper_5.8-r3, it works without problems, but the CI+ channel still doesn't open.

    Good news for DM900 and DM920 users


    With the 8.0 image, there is now a major update in the Enigma2 core. For the Dreambox models, a completely new ION hardware acceleration backend has been implemented.


    This should bring the OSD performance to a level similar to DreamOS.


    Please test the new image and share your feedback. Also let us know if you run into any issues.


    I was not able to test everything in full, but during my tests so far I did not notice any negative side effects.

    I updated the 8.0 beta two days ago on a dm920 to today's June 6 release. After updating, the colors of some picons changed. The color of the circle also changed to "I" when it restarted. From yellow it turned blue.


    I tried to install the entire image today, but the error remains.


    By reinstalling the June 3 image, the colors return to normal.
