Great reply.well thats good to know i might bring it all here then.
Ive done allot of reading today about static ip and do understand now why we have to do this. i just need to get time to have another go.
Ive installed putty and the other programmes mentioned onto this pc so there ready.
ive found another way of setting the static ip address that i think i will try which is by using cmd ipconfig/all through control panell and adapter settings in windows.
Need help setting up Ubuntu-oscam-CCcam2.1.3-portforwarding

sounds messy to say the least, here is a link to someone with a similar problem.
Id stick with it and address the problem with the router, as it may be nackerd
Codehttp://www.***user.co.uk/forum/***-router/36027-dg934g-port-forwarding-struggling-utorrent-after-moving-***.htmlSomeone suggested post screenshots of the settings, this would be your best way forward.

Birdman if you look at advanced settings network menu you should be able to make the servers ip static by just ticking a box.
-
dont know if i should just go get the lot and set up from home i have vm 20mpbs and relitive has sly with probs much less. meant to ask about the internet speeds and what impact it has on the home network.

Are you still running the server wired or wireless?
-
its going to be wired
-
its going to be wired
But isn't right now? I had issues with DHCP Reservation and wireless connections on my VM, to be honest the routers provided by both Virmin and s*y are pants.
I bought one from second hand shop for a fiver flashed DD-WRT on it and never looked back.
Anyway your reservations should look like this -

Now you have to configure your Smart Card Reader, wether it is a Smargo, Omnikey or box.
Then you have to configure your cccam & oscam to your Subscription Setup. I will put links at the bottom of the original tutorial to point you in the right direction... -

There are hundreds of variations of card readers & Satellite subs so I cant cover them all. You are going to have to look for help on the forum and start your own threads if you are still stuck.
Check links at the bottom of orig tut in about half hour..
Good luck
