    i have tried lsusb:

    i get

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

when i go to ip :8888

    i get

    after a reboot i get

  • Thats your smargo,

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0403:6001 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd FT232 USB-Serial (UART) IC

looks like you have smargo is assigned to wrong usb port

In config it should be: device = 001:003

  • I presume you have setup your smargo m8?

    Oopz, missed that..

I had the problem of the Device port changing all the time using a powered Hub with a smargo smartreader. Make sure you dont attach any more USB Devices & it should stay on the same Device ID

  • Run lsusb again, I almost guarantee you that your device ID has changed again, when your posting your oscam log, also post current lsusb printout. I had the exact same problems with usb hub.. It changes after reboot.

    Try this:
Remove all unnecessary USB attachments & reboot
run lsusb & update oscam configs.

    If that does not work
Try the smargo without USB Hub and run lsusb & update oscam configs.

Remember, you have to reboot after the devices are removed to try and get a perminant Device ID. If you attach any other devices the Device ID Might change again

    from myip:8888 for oscam says

  • The device ID should (he says lol) only change when Computer is rebooted?

Restart Oscam in Oscam webif and see if that picks it up after any changes made to port no!

  • You could try installing/re-installing USB libs? you on Ubuntu?

    Install:
    sudo apt-get install libusb-dev

    Upgrade:
    sudo bash -c "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade"

Also check if smargo is a clone

    http://linuxsat-support.com/sm…t-fake-smargo-reader.html

Are you a 100% sure its 1.4 if not follow steps by Master G this will tell you!

1: Update your smartreader+ if it has v1.2 or older firmware with v1.3 in your normal PC before puting into Linux server and set it to Autoswitch and select Normal to set it to work in Linux Server.

    2: In Your Linux Server.
Copy these drivers to linux PC server. FTP 2 files:
    srp_tools_x86
    srp_update_x86
Set on console to both file chmod 755 !

    3: Run command: ./srp_update_x86
    and you see like so:
smartreader+ version v1.0, v1.1 or v1.2 then you have time to update.

The device ID should (he says lol) only change when Computer is rebooted?

I never said "The device ID should only change when when the computer is rebooted" mrgmx m8, I said it might change when it is rebooted. This identity problem is mainly due to the fact that older version's of the Smargo firmware do not allow a unique internal device ID for Linux to tie it to a port upon restart. This is not a problem unless you are using a Powered USB Hub where addressing the device becomes an issue. I had this problem with my smargo.

It would also be great if you used the thanks button to show appreciation of mrgmx helping you out
    FTP them to Root
    or
FTP them to temp (But then you will have to edit all the commands given to point to temp directory)
