  • Welcome.
    I have a problem with Alien2. I had the "Boot" so I wanted to fix it.

    By Putty typed command :

    set bootargs console=ttyAS0,115200 rw ramdisk_size=6144 init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 nwhwconf=device:eth0,hwaddr:00*:06:37:04:15:00

    ip=192.168.40.83:192.168.40.19*:192.168.40.1:255.255.0.0:lh:e*th0:off

    stmmaceth=msglvl:0,phyaddr:1,w*atchdog:5000 bigphysarea=6000

    and

    nboot.i 0x80000000 0 0x00100000 ;bootm 0x80000000

    Spark began to work.

    I did upgrade online 1.2.58 Spark Europe, but then when you start shoved PowerOff (remote).
    The display appeared to mark time and timer, the red LED.
    When you turn ON again, "BOOT".

    You're welcome to help as soft upload via RS232 or how to run a tuner.

    HELP,HELP

  • Be extremely careful using some of the commands posted here ... messing about with the enviroment variables could brick your box if done incorrectly. If you are not sure what you are doing then contact the place where you bought the box from and let them sort it out ... if you tried some of these commands and caused your box to stop working then you may invalidate the warranty.

    I can see the post above me where the commands have been entered wrong .... just be careful

  • Ok....

    heres what brought my box back to life

    It was stuck on boot after trying to install Enigma 2 and not reading the bit where it said to plug the USB stick on the back port..........I know.....

    Connect the receiver to your PC with Null-Modem RS232 cable

    Open a Terminal application, I used PuTTY)

    Select your COM port, set the baud rate to 115200 and open the connection

    Turn the receiver ON

    When you see the prompt, copy these commands one by one and press ENTER:
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    set bootargs console=ttyAS0,115200 rw ramdisk_size=6144 init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 nwhwconf=device:eth0,hwaddr:0037:04:15:00
    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    ip=192.168.40.83:192.168.40.19:192.168.40.1:255.255.0.0:lh:eth0:off
    ________________________________________________________
    stmmaceth=msglvl:0,phyaddr:1,watchdog:5000 bigphysarea=6000
    _________________________________________________________
    nboot.i 0x80000000 0 0x00100000 ;bootm 0x80000000
    _____________________________________________

    The receiver should boot ok now and you are able to Perform a Software update/Downgrade

    Upgrade the receiver to the "spark_1.2.51 Europe" which has the uboot files needed to restore it.

    When the receiver reboots, it will look like its stuck again in boot loop.

    Turn it off and start again from the top, which will make the receiver reinstall all the data needed to work.

    After that, upgrade to the latest one the normal way and then you can try to install Enigma2 again..

    Good Luck

  • hi you say enter the commands but do I enter the first one then press enter to get the space between the lines?

    set bootargs console=ttyAS0,115200 rw ramdisk_size=6144 init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 nwhwconf=device:eth0,hwaddr:0037:04:15:00

    ip=192.168.40.83:192.168.40.19:192.168.40.1:255.25 5.0.0:lh:eth0:off

    stmmaceth=msglvl:0,phyaddr:1,watchdog:5000 bigphysarea=6000

    nboot.i 0x80000000 0 0x00100000 ;bootm 0x80000000
    Thanks

  • ok of reading from here and youtube i worked out where the spaces were needed in the first command and now have my box running but looking at the sparks software upgrad I have no option for1.2.51 only 54 or 58???
    thanks

  • can you find 1.2.51 E2 boot upgrade in spark.

    Someday everything will all make perfect sence.
    So for now laugh at the confusion,smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

  • choose menu on remote
    choose spark + ok
    then choose update software
    choose spark_ 1.2.51 E2 Boot Upgrade then red button

    Someday everything will all make perfect sence.
    So for now laugh at the confusion,smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

  • Yeah Ben did a 51 update then says rebooting but gets stuck in boot made again. guess its truly broken!! Shame this dual boot receiver is so reluctant & unhappy being used for just that. I got this for my dad for a xmas gift thinking it would be more reliable then a clone DM!! lol
    Cheers for all your help fella

  • I would contact the guys at Lavatronics to see if they can help. The chances are they will be able to fix the receiver and return it to you in a working condition. They will probably charge you if you didn't buy it from them, but a repair charge is better than a bricked box, that is only good for propping the door open with.

  • Please help, when I try to upload E2 in my Alien 2 tuner is restarted and stuck on BOOT, "OK" button does not work only BOOT on screen, I try to use Putty but as soon as connect with tuner no showing "PK7105" only show letter "y" with two dots on top, when I try to paste :

    "set bootargs console=ttyAS0,115200 rw ramdisk_size=6144 init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 nwhwconf=device:eth0,hwaddr:0037:04:15:00
    ip=192.168.40.83:192.168.40.19:192.168.40.1:255.25 5.0.0:lh:eth0:off
    stmmaceth=msglvl:0,phyaddr:1,watchdog:5000 bigphysarea=6000"

    changes the half character on different.

  • Hi, I have the same problem, but a little different.
    The box is in boot.
    But I put the rescue spark image, and load the image, at the end it say success, I turn off the box, after I turn on with push the right arrow it appears "FACT" and next "T T0","T0" blinding and don´t exit of this, do you known what´s happen?

  • switch the box off and hold the ok button pressed
    when you see forc than press the upper button,you will see spar(k) and press ok.
    then the box will boot in spark.

    Someday everything will all make perfect sence.
    So for now laugh at the confusion,smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

  • She´s alive again, I use the 1.2.50 rescue image, the 1.2.31 don´t work with this box.
    She´s don´t make the reboot automatically, I turn off manually, thanks.

  • fine you sorted it out
    don`t forget to update to 1.2.51 e2 boot upgrade.

    Someday everything will all make perfect sence.
    So for now laugh at the confusion,smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

  • Hello everyone: I have a problem with alien 1, Telenet does not get the message "PK7105"! Display shows 0:00 and I can not do anything! What can be a problem that does not get the message "PK7105"? Putty version? RS232 cable or something else ... ?

  • Sorry to tell you this, but you have a clone box that has just been killed by the Amiko Spark software.

    Did you recently update the firmware ?

    http://linuxsat-support.com/am…t/25268-0000-display.html

    To be honest if you haven't had the box long you need to take it back to where you have had it from, if possible strat a claim through PayPal or if purchased with a credit card contact the card company.

    The only thing that box is good for now is to use it to prop the door open with.

    Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
