reboot server

  • Hi got my server up and going the problem now is it seems to reboot itself 5 times a day how do I go about changing this so it will only reboot once a day I,m looking at a time say 4am each morning to reboot,ta

  • have you edited the crontab file? if it is rebooting 5 times a day then there is an error in this somewhere

    works for me to reboot server at 4am every morning on my debian server

    If I take a while to respond, you can see why.....

  • if you are in windows you can use a program called putty to access your server.
    or use filezilla and edit the file through the path /etc/cron.d


    i use the putty method if im on windows !

    today i changed the cronjob in my debian server


    from the keyboard or ssh - putty
    type these commands


    cd /etc


    The above command will change directory to /etc



    type


    ls


    this is list command to see files in that directory ¬


    to look in a file type command below,


    more crontab


    now you can read the crontab _


    if you want to edit type


    nano crontab


    After editing hold control key + o
    Then enter key
    Finally hold control key and x
