  • I had read this article, did the command via putty but no success , that why i am posting a list from putty command line, if someone understand what is wrong. It says some errors writing var directory etc

  • have you try a resque image for the alien 2

    Someday everything will all make perfect sence.
    So for now laugh at the confusion,smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.

  • the receiver is blocked at boot ( init then boot) and doesn't matter what i press. i can access via putty to console, i have try the comand sequence from another thread but always finished with errors like you can see in log and nothing more. if i can load rescue image somehow via putty will probably help, but how?

  • solved, problem is in command line for putty in line with network mask
    "set bootargs console=ttyAS0,115200 rw ramdisk_size=6144 init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 nwhwconf=device:eth0,hwaddr:0037:04:15:00
    ip=192.168.40.83:192.168.40.19:192.168.40.1:255.25 5.0.0:lh:eth0:off
    stmmaceth=msglvl:0,phyaddr:1,watchdog:5000 bigphysarea=6000"

    When you see the 'PK7105' prompt again, copy the following command without the quotes ("") and press ENTER:
    "nboot.i 0x80000000 0 0x00100000 ;bootm 0x80000000"

    thx

  • ok
    so post 4 is useful
    great that the problem is solved

  • Hi I have the same problem my alien2 is stuck on INIT BOOT. can some one give me a heads up of what to do with putty and how to fix my problem please

  • i think the best way is contact your reseller.

  • Agree with Ben here .... if you are not sure how to paste the commands in then its best you not try the commands ... It will no doubt result in your box being bricked and then rather than have your reseller fix it for you, it will become an expensive paperweight

  • well im happy to type it in but on every site i have seen this on it is shown like this
    set bootargs console=ttyAS0,115200 rw ramdisk_size=6144 init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 nwhwconf=device:eth0,hwaddr:00*:06:37:04:15:00

    ip=192.168.40.83:192.168.40.19*:192.168.40.1:255.255.0.0:lh:e*th0:off

    stmmaceth=msglvl:0,phyaddr:1,w*atchdog:5000 bigphysarea=6000
    These have a space or is this all one line?
    Cheers

  • Which "same problem" since there are actually a few different problems listed in this thread?
    Do you have the output from the serial console?
    Have you tried to boot to Spark by using the commands in the link to the other thread?

    Flash by serial or flash from the serial console? You can flash by serial, but it is not as easy as USB, TFTP, or NFS.

    Your best bet is to try to first try to install the older version of Spark which contains a U-Boot, then upgrade Spark, then try installing an Enigma2 image.

    So you updated your post before I finished answering... :)

    Looks lie you do not have any of the same problems from this post - your box is booting ok into enigma2, but there is some problem with enigma2. What image did you flash? Is this first boot of the image, or was it working ok before and then stopped?
