I just received the news today that yet again I have to work all over christmas this year. I really want to watch the sport on boxing day, so here is what I am thinking. On the machines I operate, there is an internet connection on the computer and obviously a monitor too. One machine will be off so I can use it to play with. Would it work if I was to get a box and connect it with the internet cable and by using an adapter run it through the monitor. Now, in my mind I cant see a problem with this but I want to put it out there and see what you all think.
will this work

In theory yes it should work no problem........ only thing I would check is that the internet connection for your workplace has no restrictions on it for in/out data.

As far as I am aware there are no restrictions, it is password protected for getting on internet on computer but that shouldnt interfere with what I need

Enjoy the sport on Boxing day then! beer10

If you will be using a HDMI to DVI connector/cable.
1. Check well in advance that it is compatible. Some receivers will work some won't.
2. Don't forget to allow for sound. Set of speakers or cable to line in of other PC. -
I imagine you are talking about a satbox not android¿?
and if a satbox then you already have a sat dish already set up and running a cable tp where you will have the box ? -
why don't you just setup a dynamic ip and stream it to the pc at your work?
