How big is the flash/eMMC in your Maxytec?
If I am right, then this is OEM of H9 Combo/Twin (8GB) with an Android partition, too...
So, not to be used (this XML file you posted here) for H9X/H92X series (only 256MB flash/eMMC)!
-
So, it works in Zgemma H2H without problems?
Good to know! :)
-
Not yet, no time... Probably tomorrow.... I have a monkey I need to get off my back first....
-
My pleasure!
It does save it, you were doing something wrong there... I did it many times... -
M8, you can buy a cheap USB TTL cable on the net... See post no. 1!
-
So, that's NOT a null modem cable (= crossed 2 and 3) but a straight one (= 2 to 2 and 3 to 3)?
-
Thanx for the xml!!!

No, sadly... To tell the truth, I kinda gave up on it. I mean, it's still sitting on my shelf but my heart is no longer bent towards rescuing the darn box...
And nothing from the manufacturer...
So....

For a while now, the best development is in that corner, it seems to me, with those guys making the following OEM boxes: Zgemma H7/Mut@nt51/AX51. Close second, from what I have tested, is Edision OS mio 4K+.
(Some of my mates tell me that Dinobot 8K is also great but I can't tell for sure...)
Sadly, a lot of people are not aware of it...

But in that case, in the Settings of VPN Manager, put ALL CONFIG IN ONE FOLDER = NO!
And I must emphasise once again: it's all carefully written in my tutorial, see the pdf file....
-
Yes but if the devices swap places - after reboot it can't work... I feel sometimes this is the cause of some of these complaints...
-
USB stick - never a problem.
It should not be on HDD with moving parts, we keep warning.... SSD OK but not HDD.
mSD card is also OK.
If you have loads of space, then yes, flash is OK - but usually people do not care when it comes to EPG etc. and that space gets overwhelmed very quickly, as it goes to flash by default, most of the time....
Therefore, I send all kinds of stuff to USB stick and the machine runs fine, then: subtitles (download), picons, EPG, logs, FNC backup and FNC favourites, OpenVPN files etc.

I did exactly as it is in your tutorial.
Just one question at this point:
Code) Create a folder on a USB stick/SSD/mSD card and name it whatever you want, say openvpn, so it would be here, as an example: /media/usb/openvpnDo I have to create the folder on the USB stick? Can't it be inside the device's disk?
You couldn't have done everything exactly as I did...
master G already warned you of one mistake.
You asking about the need to create a folder on USB stick called openvpn also shows clearly you did not do exactly as I did...
And I suspect you made more errors, with an attitude like that...
-
Do it exactly as I described and report back....
But do it EXACTLY as I described, no ifs and buts!!!
