Create a folder named the city inside the openvpn folder.
Example - Amsterdam: the path will be media/hdd/openvpn/Amsterdam
Send the VPN server file into the Amsterdam folder.
Repeat this process for all cities.
But in that case, in the Settings of VPN Manager, put ALL CONFIG IN ONE FOLDER = NO!
And I must emphasise once again: it's all carefully written in my tutorial, see the pdf file....
Display MoreOK, let me try...
1) Install the plugin manually, as per usual and restart E2...
2) Create a folder on a USB stick/SSD/mSD card and name it whatever you want, say openvpn, so it would be here, as an example: /media/usb/openvpn
3) Create subfolders in that folder and name them accordingly, say London, Berlin, Manchester, Sao, Frankfurt, NYC etc. - for example: /media/usb/openvpn/London (or whatever you want to have as an option, create as many as you need)
4) Choose .udp.ovpn files given to you by your VPN provider and move them to your newly created folders, one for each server/city into its specific folder
5) Now, go to MENU > Plugins > VPN Manager > MENU > change the following settings:
-Save directory config > find the main openvpn folder and press SAVE button (say, /media/usb/openvpn/)
-OpenVPN autostart > yes
-VPN username > (Surfshark is specific here, you need to put in the ones they gave you for manual settings)
-VPN password > (as above)
If Surfshark username and password are too difficult to do via RCU, then use FileZilla Client to FTP to your box and go to:
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/VpnManager
Right click on plugin.py and choose View/Edit (use Notepad++ for editing).
Find lines 61 and 62 and copy and paste your username and password where you see XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX below:
Codeconfig.vpnmanager.username = ConfigText(default="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX", fixed_size=False) config.vpnmanager.password = ConfigText(default="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX", fixed_size=False)
Save and exit. Confirm the change, if asked. Close FZC. Restart E2.
6) Open VPN Manager and note your normal IP address, internet provider, speed etc.
Now, choose which server you want to be on and press OK button on your RCU.
If you wait a bit, after connecting to a VPN server, you will be able to see your new and OpenVPN encrypted IP address, speed etc.
Alternatively, in PurE2 go to MENU > pManager > Network > General network info > see if you are on a VPN... (in Surfshark you have to have 10.x.x.x address, amongst others...)
Also in PurE2, you could check your speed using MENU > FNC PurE2 plugins > Speedtest-FNC > OK, then OK again...
Voila!:cool1:

what i did find out was that it does work with usb instead of directly in box for some reason probably space thats used as i am trying on a zgemma h2h
and yes i agree with you probably didnt save the file properly ,when i put the ovpn files directly in box it freezes but when on a usb stick works perfectly
So, it works in Zgemma H2H without problems?
Good to know! :)

Will PIA work on VPN Manager?
I have in stalled VPN Manager on my Zgemma H2 (Wooshbuild Infinity). I am using Surshark VPN and whilst this works, it is so slow as to be unusable. When connected to the fastest server in my area (London), I get an average 1.6 Mbits/s so can only watch SD streams. When I disconnect from the VPN, I get 26.6 Mbits/s and can watch anything. I have the DNS set at 1.1.1.1 etc., but still way, way slow.
Does anyone know if this is an issue with an older Zgemma model, or is this a known issue with the Surfshark VPN? Seems odd that I can watch UHD streams 100% fine without VPN, but VPN via Surfshark reduces speed 15 fold. Tnx.
I would say it's your HW, not enough firepower, so there is nothing you can do...
But numsy, a few posts above yours, says it is working fine in his H2, so go figure...
In my old DB500HD I had similar problems...
Ergo not sure what's up with yours... LAN or WLAN?
Buy a better, stronger, newer STB and you won't know you are using VPN.
Zgemma H7 is still the best IMO, H9 Combo/Twin are cool, too. Edision OS mio 4K+, then some Dinobots, like 8008 etc.
Zgemma H10 with dual OS is coming but we do not know how it will function as of now, of course....
Yup, I am sure you are correct. My box is a Star H2, not an H2H, so it is pretty prehistoric. It served me well, but time to lay it to rest and upgrade.
Aha, as I suspected - there is a HW difference... Similar to my old F500HD, I guess...
Yep, it will work fine in a new, stronger box, not to worry!
Surfshark is the EASIEST to set up, for sure!
And unlimited devices... so for me... ;)

I think images need to support wireguard first.
I've only seen openpli discussing wireguard implementation
