Your rant is in vain, you do realise the first new Spark 2 receivers are now available and run Spark 2 in Android on Arm hardware (no more SH4). Android is rock solid stable on Arm, Android will eventually take over completely from Enigma as it's in constant development and has support and a huge mount of developers onboard. This first Spark 2 receivers won't be great, but wait till they release multi tuners and the community see Android as a better and more open option to Enigma, so many apps already available for it including XBMC.

Sly could easily supply a cheap SD box that uses their new firmware and give these out to SD customers. It's also in their interest to do so as then they'll be able to use mpeg4 and mheg5 which saves lots of bandwidth and brings many new features

Yes, you will need a drive attached for CrossEpg or else it will save to internal flash and cause the box to glitch/crash. CrossEpg is just for satellite as it only gives now and next Epg, terrestrial doesn't need it as it has 7 day Epg

This is a completely new direction. It's Spark ported to Android, being Android based opens many more doors than being dual boot Spark + Enigma. It's also a change of architecture from Sh4 to Arm which has great support

When you first install my image do a full satellite scan with clear before scan enabled so the list of channels were created by the box itself, I somehow find it better, it's the first thing I do after installing an image.

I've replaced the dropbox files with the ones from my usb key, see if it works now

I flashed this same image on two other boxes earlier, so that's a total of 5 boxes I've flashed it on without any difficulty. Connect your regular Usb drive to the rear Usb and at the same time flash this from Usb key from the front slot.

Here is the link to my latest image http://bit.ly/1nxo0aY

It's a new from scratch updated version of the image I prepared before with the latest OpenPli but it also includes an update script (credit to martinxp). To update the image telnet in and run "./Update_E2.sh"

You will need a 256MB swapfile enabled and mounted in the hddmountmanager plugin

I'm putting together a new packaged image using the latest updates here. Anyone have a Rats picon updater that works with this image? I've tried a few, all give enigma2 as a dependency error when trying to install using telnet and give a script error when i run it after FTPing it to the box

SUCCESS!!! with pog's image. Not sure about this but only difference I found is on conf file httpallowed line. Off the head IMO martin's only has 10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255 while pog's got whole set (127.0.0.1,192.168.0.0-192.168.255.255,10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255). Anyway Thanks all.

I used my own working backup of /var/keys/ in my image. The range of IP addresses in the oscam.conf file are for http web access to oscam from your browser, they make no difference to Oscam working or not as Oscam connections originate from the box, they are only for incoming web connections. Open ipofamikobox:8888 in your browser, username:root pass:blank

The image is complete and updated with the latest fixes, I think I've all bugs sorted. Streaming and two $ channels working. Be sure to create a 256MB swapfile in hddmount manager plugin on first boot as this is needed. You'll get a green screen on cold boot, but the box boots fine after it restarts
