wrong version of the loader or you turned the receiver on too fast

on the sys info screen you punch in 77777 or 88888 and it comes up with an id number.
You compare that number with a known good list that is posted on the net.
my genuine receiver is an 085B.Doesn't matter what firmware you load except the aug 2012 anonymousx firmware will kill a genuine receiver.- - - Updated - - -
should be the genuine list
00D0
00EA
085B
0D0C
98A1
98F2

but the fuse is there for a reason
-
a channel list would never do that
you must have loaded full firmware by mistake -
i think they had a 5000 channel limit
time to start weeding out some channels -
I think it has a 1000 transponder limit,so you can't go wild adding all kinds of sats.

s16 has no ftp function
I think the lan manager only works with the s10
ftp is only for receivers with a built-in hardrive and is actually a misnomer for openbox. -
nobody ever found a loader that would work similar to the 2.0.0.c for the s10.
the processor probably doesn't have the code built-in to keep the rs232 port working if the firmware is corrupt. -

Hi
I have an OPENBOX S10, with the said clone killed problem.
I have burned via RS232 the FW HDS2_S9_by_anonymouSX.rar
Can see the ***BOX logo, but can not enter inside menus.
Have tried several more FW found on the internet, similar results.
Can anybody Help ?
Thanksthat is s9 firmware, the menus will be greyed out when loaded on the s10.
there were 3 anonymousx firmwares, one from dec 2011 and another from jan 2012 for the s10.
the other was the s9 firmware.
a bogus firmware appeared in aug 2012 that kills receivers and should be avoided. -
the loader never comes with the firmware file, you have to get that separately.
It sounds like you are trying to load the eromclient.abs file instead of the proper firmware file.
Be aware the F5 uses a different loader that usually doesn't work with usb adapter.
Beg,borrow,or steal a pc with a real com port.Old pc's are often free or cheaper than the usb adapter costs. -
start the loader, select the full firmware file to load, tick include bootloader, and then hit next on the loader, then turn the receiver on.
-
clone kill, the firmware detected the receiver was a clone and erased the bootloader section and the 1st 64k of maincode.
There are many threads on the subject. -
if you burn your finger on the processor heatsink, time for a fan.
Sounds like a heat problem or power supply problem. -
ask who you bought it from for code
dealers put a password on so you can't get at the "goods"
telling you what it is would defeat their purpose.
3327 is the master password as previously mentioned. -
try using 3327
-
what caused it?
was it working then died?
if so it's a hardware problem -
x5 they just threw the openbox name on to get forum support.
it doesn't have the ali processor or any support programs from the previous receivers. -
if a blind scan doesn't find the channel, something is radically wrong

hi all.could anyone help me with this question? i just want to know how you know if your box needs the firmware updating?is there an obvious sign or not?also what is the firmware and what does it do?ive upgraded channel lists before but never firmware as dont know what it does for my box.thanks
a moot point since there hasn't been any new firmware since feb 2012 so there is no "new" firmware.
