never heard of that but you can use split_dbs.exe to strip the .udf out of a .dbs file

the varistor has nothing to do with a clone kill.
the entire thread is b.s.
a receiver without the tuner will kick into clone detect immediately. -
there were 2 or 3 different versions of the remote control for openbox.Mine has no standby button.

wrong processor
-
never worked for me
the fix was to update the firmware to something newer.
I believe they fixed that problem back in summer 2011 -
2 channels per minute x60=120 channels per hour. So 5000 /120=41.66 hours just to see what is on,assuming you didn't hit a commercial.By the time you went thru all the channels there would be something else on.The pro cess would be faster if you had a working epg for all channels
-
30 seconds per channel how long would it take to go through every channel just to see what's on?

I would make sure the .udf is really for the s16 by loading into the alieditor s16 version.
If everything is kosher, load to receiver with alieditor itself via rs232. -
or it means Electronic Counter Measure
when a pay provider does something to stop pirates from getting a pay signal for free -
learn by doing as my teachers used to say.

I only have the s10 but it must be similar.
You start with a good working channel list and just move the motor from sat to sat, saving the positions as you go.
Start from the lowest sat position and work your way up. -
the loader gives you many minutes to turn the receiver on after hitting next.
A few times I tried loading firmware only to realize I didn't have the rs232 cable connected to the receiver.I took the time to connect and turn on and the loader still loaded. If you notice the eromclient.abs file is different sizes for the different models/processors.I think the f series one is like 40k size. -
make sure you are using the correct version of loader.
the eromclient.abs file part of the loader must match the model of receiver.
you can't use the version for the s9/s10 that is the wrong processor type. -
either the wrong cable or the receiver was turned on too fast.
the receiver must be off when you hit next in the loader, then you turn it on. -
you have to mention the sat/provider/channel you want, then maybe somebody will help
-
probably the sept or early oct 2011 firmware
-
in a rush to try something new last year I loaded the anonymousx firmware from august 2012 and killed my genuine receiver.
And newer isn't always better.Factory wise you will never see any new firmware released for the s12. -
Just wondering what firmware i can install onto my openbox s12, for example can i install s16 firmware or even ***box f3 f5 firmware, just curious cause the operating systems seem to be pretty much the same.
the processor and hardware have to be almost identical, then you have protection ic's that usually prevent that.
-
that one was actually mis-labeled.
It wouldn't work on my genuine s10 and said it was a clone.
That file never appeared on any factory site and is of unknown origin. -
probably broken solder connections on the connector, which requires a hot air soldering setup.
Assuming the connector itself is still good.
