the script.ini has to match the processor,so the file has to be for s16 if .dbs or .udf.

The specs that I've seen on several sites for the X6 and they show ali3601 processor and specs are remarkably similar to the S11. If bado123 can get the X6 back up and running tell us what the difference is? Another thought that occurs because it looks like a backward step from X3 and X5 is whether the firmware for the S11 might load on to it.
s11 was the 3602 processor.
If the x6 is 3601 the m3/f3 loader should work on it.
Basically the 2.0.0c loader with the eromclient.abs that matches the 3601
BTW the maincode in the firmware isn't encrypted, which is unusual for openbox receivers.
The only other one I know about is the s16 that isn't encrypted. -
I saw the spec as the nec processor and not ali
-
openbox in the old days used the ali processor, seems the latest openbox receivers can be anything but ali.
The old programs/files won't work so don't even try. -
x6 is nec processor
x5 is sunplus processor -
s9 is like 3 years old and support dried up.
-
openbox is just a name they slapped on the x5 to get forum support.
-
I also bought blank chips when I first got my s10,since it has no jtag port.I was killing the receiver on a daily basis and was always able to recover via rs232,even on a blank or totally corrupt chip. The processor has a built-in routine to keep the rs232 port open even if the flash is completely blank. If you are using the correct loader/cable with an old pc and still can't recover, something is radically wrong.

it is just alieditor with a script.ini to match the m3606 processor.
-
x5 is totally different,so no old programs work with it
-
never heard of a factory reset killing a box.
There is only 1 version of loader that works,2.0.0c and a pc with a real com port/null modem cable.
No need to read a working s10,the s10 firmware is full flash size anyway. -
25v is way too high.
I assume you are testing the voltage with the lnb attached.
a diode only drops the voltage .6v so that would be useless -
there is no schematic for the s9 so who knows
-
never heard of s10 disabling the usb.
menus get disabled after loading the wrong firmware, but never the usb port.
the connector is probably broken if the receiver doesn't detect the usb stick when inserted. -
certain tv's and fluorescent lights will mess with the remote signal.

this is the last one Openbox Software(2011-12-13)-New!
2-15-2012 was the last for s10,s11,s12
s9 had a new one 6-18-2012
firmware has nothing to do with missing channels.
Blindscan to find them again.
openbox doesn't like multiple receivers connected to an lnb,if that is what you are trying to do, -
if the menus are greyed out,it's the wrong firmware for the receiver.
-
the firmware is encrypted
-
make sure your box is really bad
-
for the s9 the last was 6-18-2012 from parts unknown.
(it was never on factory sites, just appeared on forum sites magically last summer)
Brick is no problem since you can recover via rs232 and real serial port.
