How To Flash A VU+ SOLO Linux Enigma2 Receiver

Step-by-step guide to flashing a new Enigma2 image onto the VU+ Solo from a USB stick.

Flashing a fresh Enigma2 image onto your VU+ Solo from a USB stick only takes a few minutes. Work through the steps below carefully and your receiver will boot straight into the new image.

Flashing the receiver

  1. Fully power the receiver down by removing the power cord or switching it off at the mains.
  2. Make sure no USB devices are plugged into the receiver.
  3. Insert the USB stick containing the image files into the USB port on the receiver.
  4. Power the receiver on.
  5. The orange/red light on the front stays solid while the image is being flashed — do not power off or remove the USB stick.
  6. After a few minutes the light starts to flash green. You can now remove the USB stick and press the reset button on the rear to reboot.

⚠️ Do not interrupt the flash. While the receiver is flashing, do not power it down for any reason — doing so can cause serious or permanent damage.
