Unicable tuner configuration for Non-FBC tuners

How to configure a tuner for a Unicable / JESS LNB on non-FBC tuners, including the all-important unique SCR per tuner.

Here's roughly how to configure a tuner for a Unicable LNB on non-FBC tuners.

Tuner settings

  • Type of LNB/device: SCR (Unicable/Jess)
  • SCR (Unicable/Jess) type: LNB — unless you're using a Unicable/Jess switch.
  • Manufacturer: self-explanatory.
  • Model: self-explanatory.
  • Position: leave as 1 (some LNBs can be programmed and used in combination).

Repeat for every tuner, and make sure you never re-use the same user-band channel — this applies to all tuners accessing the LNB, even ones on a different receiver. Unicable tuner config.jpg

You can use a Unicable LNB on one tuner and normal LNBs on a DiSEqC switch on another physical tuner of the same receiver.

Some Unicable LNBs also have legacy ports — for example the GT-Sat GT-S3DCSS24. A possible setup is shown here (thanks to willo3092 for the picture). willo3092.jpg
