A Step-by-Step Guide to Installing CoreELEC on the Dreambox One UltraHD

This guide explains how to install CoreELEC (to run Kodi) on a Dreambox One UltraHD from an SD card — and how to switch back to DreamOS afterwards.

What you'll need

  • The CoreELEC image file for the Dreambox One.
  • A flashing tool such as Balena Etcher or the LibreELEC USB-SD Creator.
  • A spare SD card.

Installation

  1. Download the CoreELEC image. Get the correct .img.gz file from the Dream Elite server: Dream Elite server.
  2. Prepare your SD card. Insert it into your computer, open your flashing tool, select the downloaded .img.gz file and choose the SD card as the target, then start. This erases all data on the card.
  3. Boot into CoreELEC. Once flashing finishes, insert the SD card into the Dreambox One's card reader and power on — it boots automatically from the SD card into CoreELEC. The first boot takes several minutes and may include an automatic restart.
  4. You're ready. After setup you can start using CoreELEC and Kodi. Bluetooth remotes are usually detected and paired automatically.

Switching back to DreamOS (Enigma2)

  1. In CoreELEC, open the Shutdown Menu (top-left corner).
  2. Select Restart or Shut Down.
  3. Once the Dreambox One is off, remove the SD card.
  4. Turn the device back on — it now boots into DreamOS.

  • I successfully flashed coreelec to a sd card, ive installed headend as i want to use the dreambox tuners for tv via correelec. I go through the process of using the wizard to set it up through a web browser, it recognises the tuner as it lists it on the left hand side, when it goes to scan transponders it doesn't find anything, i am using a unicable lnb for 28.2 and i have configured the lnb settings, i have also ammended the sat transponder file to make sure the transponders to make sure they are current.. Any advice?

  • Hi I could burn CoreElec and Librelec to Dreambox one to run Kodi. It works, but when I try to install IPTV I found problems:


    - In Librelec I could install IPTV Simple Client, but when I set the IPTV list (it works on PC), it does not star to seek for channels.

    - Also, I tryed to install IPTV Recorder, but no way to do this...


    Any one with this problem?? I want to run Kodi with IPTV Recorder on my dreambox one to finish problems with IPTV recording channels of all the images I´ve tested.
