This is probably an obvious one, but it's been driving me mad for best part of an hour and I can't see it!
From the movie list how do I navigate to an alternative file location (eg usb storage, NAS storage) to view files there?
Maybe related, or just another newbie question, what exactly does the Root Directory option in the settings do? It says "to remove the .. from being shown in the that folder" so I've tried changing it to various options to see if then the ".." option would appear in the movie list and I could use that to navigate around the system but it doesn't seem to change anything.

This isn't a skin related question.
Add bookmarks for them. When you're in the movie list just press the PVR/List button again to add/remove bookmarks with the blue button.
In settings/configuration you can also allocate the coloured buttons to NAS mounts and bookmarks.

I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but all of the 'information' screens seem to have changed since OpenATV 7.2.

That's not KiddaC's skin in your screenshots. It should have his paypal info and be full screen and more like this.
I've been having a go at it myself but the actual info list doesn't look right. There is a pipe after the colons.

No such issue on my vu+ solo 4k - sorry just noticed yours is 7.3

That's still not fully skinned. Screens that show like that aren't skinned correctly. They should have full screen same as other menu screens

And I suppose one day someone needs to teach me how to use gittags. And will that even work with my constant updates and past files.
abu baniazI've had a quick look on a repository say jedimakerxtream choose master to show branches next you will see tags and you can create a tag from here

The whole point is that there is a tag/version number where you can even attach ipks. People can then pick a specific version. The bitbake files used to make the plugins can then be adapted to use those tags in the version numbers.
As a separate matter, we could even have branches where you have a main branch that people/distros can build from as well another develop/test branch where you make changes etc. Only merge in the changes to the main branch when ready. Allows you to park any changes without losing them. E.g the unfinished fixes you did for the Picon plugin. Other people will then be more able to assist/contribute . Perhaps you could also allow other people to be maintainers so they can merge, add tags etc.

Kiddac, I ahve open 7.2 on a zgemmah7s with your skin can I continue using it? Or should I go back to open6.4 which is on another slot.

You should be ok using any of his skins just a few screens needs amending but they should be still usable

i jumped back to 6.4 every time i did software upsate on 7.2 box would go on bootloop and freeze up

Tested slyk q 1080 using vix most seems ok apart from multiboot image selector it seems that the text has doubled next to the buttons
