Unzip and replace this satellite.xml file. Path is etc / tuxbox.
It make no different as I have tried it.

maybe yes...
in a frequency that you are receiving, what the signal bar shows?
SNR: 60%
AGC: 85%
BER: 0%
If I have to get him to adjust it, will it not affect the frequencies for the other countries like Germany, italy, Poland...etc?
-
i think snr 60% is not quite enough signal. i think that you can receive strong beams/frequencies, and not the not so strong...
i think you need to adjust better your dish ,
as i remember you have got a motor, so ...(simple or usals?)
or the installation (the dish) needs the adjustment,
or your receiver needs better setup, to adjust the dish...
and no the other frequencies will not be affected, signal will be better and to them.and... in a perfect dish setup, all satellites should be in a "line" and none of them could loose signal

Oh thanks, I am using usals so I can't adjust it. How I can adjust the motor through the program?
What signals strength that it need to do better?
I will tell the satellite company to adjust it for me as I have already paid it.
-
even in usals, sometimes (for unknown reason) the receiver takes like wrong the coordinates.
for example, in the past, in my motor... i am living to 21 degrees, but i had to set the receiver to 25 degrees to be in the "center" of all satellites...
the only thing youu can do is this. go in the dish settings, and try to change (but always remember what is now, to re-set it in this again if nothing changes) the longitude...

How I can change the dish settings in the receiver?

I don't think you can adjust it through the receiver?

I think, you must adjust your dish. Your strength of signal 60% for Astra 3 ( 23.5E) is low . I have dish 85cm and signal is between 85 - 95%.
-
in tuner setup, there is option for motor setup.
now i think you have longtitude arround 001.250 . try to change it to 001.800 than to 002.200 etc and check the signal bars in the frequency that you already saw.
if it fails or signal goes lower, try the oposite 000.750 than 000.250 and check again the signal (in every change, save and move the diish to another satellite and return).

OK thank you. I'm going to contact a professional who have put the dish on the wall to adjust it. I hope he don't charge for it.

My longitude is 001.231 so what I need to change it then?
I will try and see if it will help to improve it and I would leave it alone if I get stronger signals but if not I will contact a professional to adjust the dish to improve the signals.

Wow, it works. I have changed from 1.231 to 2.231 so now I'm getting 84% signals and 13.5db :)

are you sure
i've never used that box but reading that says you can
i added this as i did'nt see your last post
well done on getting stronger signal
just do a scan
-
I have done it as I have received the Netherlands channels in the scan, but when I watch the channels my signals goes down from 85% to 55%.
It looks like I need to adjust on dish settings to get better signals??

No, i would bet there is nothing wrong with your dish or motor, this looks like user error to me.
You need to setup your box to use usals and the motor correctly for your location
You can enter your location here:
and it will provide you with your latitude and longitude
take note or east / west and north / south and configure your tuner correctly
a setup guide for openvix can be found here:

Thank you for your help. I have changed the longitude and longitude so everything is working perfect now.
I can get all channels I want with no effect when I rotating the motor :)

Glad your sorted now chris0147 , i think at one point we were all confused
Yeah I was confused how to use it for the first time.
I can get most channels but I can't get Portugal channels, Serbia and some other countries. Does that mean I need a bigger dish like 90cm?
