  • Hello everyone... with me, openATV 7.4, the restart works, but the black screen still keeps appearing again and again, and there's nothing visible in the log except that the service was restarted...

Edited once, last by moxon: I mean, you can see in the logfile that it performs restarts and they actually work, but sooner or later the screen still goes black and you have to change the channel... ().

  • Thanks for replying, but I intend to make the configuration that is best for me, but since nothing is opened...😕

I've tested OpenPLi 9.1; while I don't work on some permanent fix, on Github, and update the version, you can try and edit /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/QuarterPounder/plugin.py, adjust line 11 so it reads "openatv_like = True", save, then restart enigma2 (you might want to do the edits outside of the box, which is fine, just upload the edited version to overwrite the old plugin.py, and make sure to restart enigma2 after doing so, before you try and use the plugin.)

    Perfect,it works now

    Thanks

    On OpenPLi it should be

    /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/QuarterPounder/

Very nice plugin, works well on OpenPLi 9.xStar,

    Thank you.

  • It's also the same on others, I was quoting from memory and partially missed the "python" element in the path, thanks for hilighting, I'll edit my post to fix.

  • works well on Vu+ Duo 4K SE & Octagon SF8008 Twin both using OpenATV 7.6 Beta after editing line 11

  • I would like to give a feedback, when the enigma2 box uses a remote tuner (so no hardware tuner is activated and you use a remote ox tuner), the video flux stays black, then appear, and then goes black immediately after.

Perhaps it try to restart the stream, but in that configuration this plugin is breaking the remote tuner on openpli (and other images I think),

    Just to let you know,

    TS

  • Good to hear your report but , why not actuall tag oottppxx and let him know not everyone is using remote tuner.

  • Thank you, I didn't know exactly who was the author, so I replied to the first post. Thank you a lot, now hopefully he knows about it.

  • Thanks both.

You need to try and activate debug and log the activity of the plugin when using the remote tuner. The plugin only listens (and acts on) certain stream events, so if it's breaking things, it's because the remote tuner is raising those; a log would be most interesting to try and understand what's happening. I'll also ask some folks that might be using both remote tuner and QP if it's breaking for them or not, as it's the first I'm hearing about it.

Eventually, as a workaround, you can probably ignore some of the streams by matching on them in the plugin configuration (do this after you capture a debug log where the stream is broken, and then try to capture another debug log if that workaround fixes things).

I installed openpli on a DM7080, and on a DM520-T2/C, the DM520 takes from the DM7080 the Sat tuner, and the DM520 does these funny things, so it looks like to me that the plugin thinks the stream is down, as when I see it appearing after 1-2 seconds, it stops and stays black. Using the remote Tuner, I think on other open images, would have the same behavior as on my test. I had to reinstall the openpli without your plugin, and all is working fine on the DM7080 Remote Tuner streams feeded to the DM520.

  • I use this plugin on Zgemma H7s and Openatv 7.5.1. When I record an IPTV channel and the plugin does its job to restore a freeze, the recording stops. Is there a way or a setting to apply to prevent this from happening?

    Thanks

The plugin doesn't restart the streams related to the recording (there was an attempt in the past, but we simply don't have the signals from E2 to do so, and even if we did it would be complicated to implement).

If you're talking about watching while simultaneously recording, I'm not sure what the interaction is with the recording system: can it even record the exact same stream we're watching without opening a different one? Did you check?

Assuming it can use the same stream, someone (hint, probably not me) would need to deep dive into the E2 recording code to check if it's stopping on service stop, and if it would be possible to resume once the plugin restarts it.

If it's using a different stream, then the plugin shouldn't have any action on it, and the reason why it's stopping should be looked at elsewhere...

You can actually test a bit of this behaviour if you have problematic channels that the plugin restarts often: just record as you do on those channels, turn the plugin off, and check what happens when there's a break in the service.

  • Thanks for the advice.

I have tried in the past (before installing Quarter pounder plugin) with a nightly recording of a channel (no other channels were in use) and when the channel freezes, so does the recording.

I was hoping to be able to solve this simply with different settings....

    Thanks

  • My setup: Uno 4k SE, OpenATV 7.5.1
Does quarter pounder only work while using the exteplayer? I ask because sometimes I'd like to record programs that are on during the night, and recording does not work when using the exteplayer.
