Personally I would say go for a Vu+ receiver but you wont get one capable of running XBMC / KODI for less than £170, the watek I have no experience with but I very much doubt the satellite side would be in any where comparable with a proper Enigma2 based receiver and that would be the part that would let the side down for me.

If you used the backup manager then you have not created a full backup, just a settings and plugins backup.

ViX> Blue button> Backup manager = This creates a plugins and settings backup. Please note that this backup requires a active internet connection to restore plugins as they are downloaded from the image feeds.

ViX> Blue button> Image manager = This creates a FULL image backup that can be restored to the same receiver or another receiver of the same make and model.

You need to go into the Network sub section in the Image and install SAMBA on both receivers for them to be able to successfully network with each other.

looking at your screenshot you have imagebackups as the parent folder which contains the vuplus folder....

Actually thats the correct file structure if you want to use the image manager to couch flash the image from the USB stick or any other attached storage media.

I believe there is a bug preventing backup images created with the image manager from being reflashed back to the Zero, you can reflash them using the image manager and I have created a bug report to see if it is a genuine reproducible bug.

If it's displaying the starting message on the VFD then its not the capacitor, how old is the receiver and are you 100 percent sure it is not a clone ?.

Try flashing a older image again see if that resolves it.

Try a reflash of the BH image again using a different usb stick if you have one.....

Also this is worth a look if you have never done this.... duo cfe Rev 3.0

He would not have been able to run the image he was using previously if he did not have the V3.0 bootloader preflashed. remember that bootloader was released something like two years ago, so none of the images released in that time would run without it installed.

Pretty much depends on what your looking for in a receiver but for around £100 you could get a Vu+ Zero single tuner or the new TM Nano SE single tuner (The sponsor is knocking a further fiver off the Nano SE until feb the 6th if memory serves).

Just for information, we have temporarily set the image status to unstable while we test build 132. It's nothing to worry about its just that we have megrged the development image line with the master image so we need to test that every thing has gone according to plan. You can try buid 132 for your self by setting your image to use unstable updates or just wait until the status is set back to stable.

    Another update.

Builds 133 onwards should have the XBMC plugin available for the Vu+ Solo 2, Solo SE and Duo2 available via the ViX image plugin feeds.
