no you need to extract the .zip file and copy the vuplus folder to the USB stick.

i tried Vu+ and Wetek and Wetek on DVB is minimum so good as Vu+...
phoenix you should try one, really m8!
I very, very, very much doubt those claims. as for KODI I use a Amazon Fire TV box and it does every thing I need.
-
am i missing something?
Well yes, the Image being used and the build number if applicable. we are not mind readers you know.
Also list the skin being used etc.
-
Personally I would say go for a Vu+ receiver but you wont get one capable of running XBMC / KODI for less than £170, the watek I have no experience with but I very much doubt the satellite side would be in any where comparable with a proper Enigma2 based receiver and that would be the part that would let the side down for me.
-
Depends on what you want out of your satellite receiver. it's all good and well buying a all in one jobbie but the old saying "jack of all trades, master of none" springs to mind here.
-
If you used the backup manager then you have not created a full backup, just a settings and plugins backup.
ViX> Blue button> Backup manager = This creates a plugins and settings backup. Please note that this backup requires a active internet connection to restore plugins as they are downloaded from the image feeds.
ViX> Blue button> Image manager = This creates a FULL image backup that can be restored to the same receiver or another receiver of the same make and model.

looking at your screenshot you have imagebackups as the parent folder which contains the vuplus folder....
Actually thats the correct file structure if you want to use the image manager to couch flash the image from the USB stick or any other attached storage media.

Actually thats the correct file structure if you want to use the image manager to couch flash the image from the USB stick or any other attached storage media.
I believe there is a bug preventing backup images created with the image manager from being reflashed back to the Zero, you can reflash them using the image manager and I have created a bug report to see if it is a genuine reproducible bug.

Revert "fix previous gstreamer cherry-pick" fix previous gstreamer cherry-pick Corrections on 5746c3291ba9b570de99e206401bfa38371ef01f. Add configure switch for compiling with either gstreamer-0.10 or gstreamer 1. New approach. Based upon patch from christophecvr <stefansat@telenet.be> add some machines to configure.ac ParentalControlSetup: solve issue when no pincode is available Simplify and hopefully improve parental lock -use one pincode servicepin, do not use seperate setup pin that only blocked the parental lock config menu. So once you define and enable a pincode the parentel lock menu is also protected. -remove service lists and bouquets list as the channels can be locked and unlocked via the normal configs (this was a 'source' of gsods anyway) -remove whitelists, so only blacklists can be configured now. I suggest this makes more sense -slighly improvement in channel selector when lock on channel is removed and cancel is pressed -Remove lever feature that was not really implemented yet. Note that I left one leftover of this feature as otherwise after an upgrade services are not protected. So we have now a pincode list in config with just one pincode (I suggest I will change this later in a smart phase) -Probable tiny stuff I might forget. It might also be that it could break some plugins. But hopefully these plugins will adapt to these changes. And I'm also sure this can be made even more simpler Satconfig: Close setup and return to the line with the selected tuner. TimeDateInput: add change time key P+/P- Don't disable ParentalControl if use only 'Protect on epg age' About: tweak date flashed image gsod in fullhd too

Blackhole are paid to only provide images for Vu+ hardware, you wont get a BH image for any thing else as their image is illegally closed source unless you hack it your self.
-
if it is over two years old then try the bootloader and yes at that age the capacitor is something to look at too.
-
why are you mounting the USB stick ? the image does that automatically it self, there is no need for you to do it.
-
If it's displaying the starting message on the VFD then its not the capacitor, how old is the receiver and are you 100 percent sure it is not a clone ?.
Try flashing a older image again see if that resolves it.
-
Genesis from the super repo works fine on my Solo2 with the ViX image using the Vu+ XBMC plugin, although like just about every thing else most of it is affected by the UK isp bans.
-
Try a reflash of the BH image again using a different usb stick if you have one.....
Also this is worth a look if you have never done this.... duo cfe Rev 3.0
He would not have been able to run the image he was using previously if he did not have the V3.0 bootloader preflashed. remember that bootloader was released something like two years ago, so none of the images released in that time would run without it installed.
-
Pretty much depends on what your looking for in a receiver but for around £100 you could get a Vu+ Zero single tuner or the new TM Nano SE single tuner (The sponsor is knocking a further fiver off the Nano SE until feb the 6th if memory serves).
-
Just for information, we have temporarily set the image status to unstable while we test build 132. It's nothing to worry about its just that we have megrged the development image line with the master image so we need to test that every thing has gone according to plan. You can try buid 132 for your self by setting your image to use unstable updates or just wait until the status is set back to stable.
- - - Updated - - -
Another update.
Builds 133 onwards should have the XBMC plugin available for the Vu+ Solo 2, Solo SE and Duo2 available via the ViX image plugin feeds.

Yes unless something has changed in the drivers you should be fine to play a .iso on most E2 boxes.
