I only have an ET9200 STB...so not the latest. But I can say viewing LIVE streams on an HTPC is like night and day compared to a STB. My HTPC plays LIVE streams like butter...awesome for sports!!

My HTPC (including Silverstone case) cost about 450 Euros, but well worth it in my opinion. If you enjoy LIVE streaming, there is nothing better...endless sources/plugins.

I'm still debating whether to upgrade my STB or add a DVB-C card to my existing HTPC with DVB-s2 card. In my opinion, LIVE TV functions are better on Enigma2 boxes(pause/rewind/FF/slow motion) I use TVHeadend, channel changing times are fast, but rewind/pause/FF are still hit or miss.

But LIVE streaming is a trillion times better on an HTPC.

Also, adding/configuring channel lists are not as convenient on an HTPC... I haven't found a way to use DBEdit with HTPC.

Does anyone use an external hard drive via esata connection for recordings?

I want to get a new STB with modular tuners and am looking at the Mut@nt HD 2400 or AX Quadbox but they don't support 3.5" internal hard drives. I've got too many of them laying around to "waste" money on a 2.5" hard drive for recordings.

Is there any noticable lag or problems saving/viewing recordings on an esata external hard drive compared to internal?

I've had an ET9200 for about 3 years and have had absolutely no problems with it.

I want to use cable and sat now and the ET9200 doesn't have modular tuners so impossible with this box. I tried a USB DVB-C/T tuner but It was not recognized by several images or an OpenElec HTPC.

I've read a lot of reviews on this forum about the VU Duo2 but haven't seen one about the ET-10000??

I'm not sure if the faster processor makes that much difference but I tried viewing XBMC live streams on my ET9200 and it was painfully slow/stuttery. A "real" HTPC was night and day, plays live streams like butter. Those with a VU Duo2, can you watch XBMC live streams smoothly?

Does anyone have the ET-10000? Reviews/feedback?

I'm using an ET9200 for 13E and 28E stats but $ly italia HD channels AFU for a while now, (FOX sports2 has no SD) so I'm thinking about using cable for US sports here in Germany.

I also use XBMC on my HTPC a lot. $portsdevil has a great selection of all sports but the quality is almost unwatchable most of the time. << 60MB cable line.

My question is: Has anyone had experience using USB DVB-C tuners on enigma2 receivers? I'm thinking about using one of these on my STB << CI slot available for cable viewing card. This is possible...correct?? If I use DVB-C USB tuner, this will not affect my sat recording options i.e. record 1 channel watch another...correct??

I was also thinking about a PCI-E DVB-C tuner with CI slot or Omnikey readers for cable viewing card for my HTPC << I think a bigger PITA to set up?? Does anybody have any experience with these w/ OpenELEC??

I only used OSCAM once for a short period and I forgot everything...sorry. The configs go in etc...correct??

Why is there a CCcam entry in the Oscam.config file?? Do I need this?

The blockemm-bylen entry in the italia oscam.server file stops OSCAM from updating the italian card...correct?? I just want to be sure, because in my experience, these cards are very picky.

I'm currently using CC*am for both S** Uk (no movies, sports or HD) and Italia (sports) on ET9200 and everything is functioning normally, uk card is updating fine in C**am, Italian card updating in original box. << no sharing...only paid for subs

My Plan: I would like to use my HTPC w/XBMC/OpenELEC/TVHeadend for everything including live tv and ditch the STB.

I have 2 omnikey readers so I have to use Oscam for these?? Is CC**m possible for these?

If I have to use Oscam, which I think I do...what are safe/current standalaone/DVBAPI configs for both cards??

I stored it on the HDD like I always do for every image.

As I said above, I've used many images and never had a prolem, so I'm almost certain this is a CrossEPG version# or image problem.

Image: HDFreaks/OpenHDF <<<< i just switched from XTrend, awesome image but English forum is terrible. CrossEPG was working like a charm on this and other images yesterday...OpenPLI OpenATV.

As the title says, CrossEPG hangs on "reading titles 195k" everytime...I have to reset the STB (switch on rear)

I have asked this question on HDFreaks forum, but it's mostly German and they use Rytec for 19.2E, so not many answers/suggestions.

I watch 28.2E and 13.0E, so I much prefer CrossEPG(always more accurate) than Rytec.

Does anyone have a link to an older version of CrossEPG?? Maybe the one in the feeds from HDFreaks is just incompatible.

I don't live in the UK, so BT Broadband is not possible for me.

I was asking if I can add BTSport and/or ESPN to my existing *** UK card without subscribing to $** Sports?

The $** UK web site is way over-complicated, as usual. I couldn't find whether this is an option without BT Broadband.

I've used AirVPN for about a year, it's only dropped the connection once. Their web site/forum has pretty good advice/support also.

Speeds are always excellent, you can select /change servers at anytime. I've only got a $hitty 6M DSL connection, but I consistently get about 5M through AirVPN.

I'm not sure about the price, think it's about €60 a year.

Does anyone have a link to a complete set of current hotbird picons? I'm using the Nephilim picons, they're good, but the set is not complete, mainly the sports channels.

I'm guessing hotbird is not that popular as it's difficult to find a complete set on-line.

19.2 or 28.2 picons are almost always a complete set, but I haven't found a complete set for hotbird.

Does anyone know how to get the FULL schedule of both BT Sports and ESPN for the entire year of 2013, or beyond?

Obviously I'm interested in mainly U.S. sports(proper sports)<< lfc4ever and I don't want to pull the trigger on ESPN/BT if they're only showing 1 NFL American football game per weekend . This is what *** UK sports has done forever...televise a $hitty NFL game and no NCAA games(basketball or proper football)<< lfc4ever.
