Hey dumb question probably but...

I've always wondered what the mechanism is for updating an image. In Dream-Elite 6.0 I get the above when trying to install curl but it can be installed in OpenATV6.4 no problem.

I get that Dream-Elite is no longer supported (and when I try to 'apt update' in telnet I get many Error 404's) but isn't there a way to add a package like curl to an older image or does that run the risk of corrupting the image by updating some system files ?

Ok I tried with Openatv 6.4 and was able to install curl and run the first command.

I see the service references is this useful for building an .m3u list by adding appropriate headers and such is that what this output would be used for ?

That is correct but ultimately I'm trying to do this direct on an android device with no intervention on a pc/browser.

More difficult than I imagined because everyone uses bouquets so Dreamdroid and the Enigma2 pvr addon in Kodi are hard-coded to access those even though the functionality exists in the webif to do more.

Still can't find a way to make an image spit out a single m3u8 of all channels either.

Maybe I can go about this another way...

Is there a url (http://ipofbox/some_command) that will pull an .m3u file from the box created from the Service List ? Or a plugin that will do that ?

I'm aware of E2m3u2bouquets but that kind of works in reverse for what I'm trying to achieve.

Not sure if we're talking past each other but some more information.

I'm using a dm900 with an OE2.5 image - no Openwebif just WebInterface which is DM's version. Antiquated I know but I've tried Openwebif with the programs I use for streaming via android boxes and they don't play quite as nice together...

Here in NA we don't point a Ku band dish at a sat and pick up a thousand channels from several different providers. In that scenario I can see how it would be useful to have bouquets to sort that mess. I use mostly blindscans on cband - go on lyngsat and see how that works and you might understand where I'm coming from.

Looks like I'll have to get some help scripting something that will do what I'm after.

I can tune a channel directly from the service list and can do so even if it hasn't been added to a bouquet so the use of the bouquet is superfluous.

Without rewriting the code for the webif I realize I have to use bouquets to stream within my house. The question is, is there a setting that automatically makes bouquets from scanned channels OR is there an addon that adds that functionality.

The third option for me is to have a script that does that but I wouldn't know where to start.

Ever since my first enigma2 receiver I've run into an issue I'm hoping has a simple resolve.

I have no use for Bouquets. In NA if I scan a satellite I have to go through extra steps to make sure this is reflected in a Bouquet or I can't locate it through the web interface. When I'm using the receiver I browse via the Service Lists as that is the most logical.

Is there a setting I've missed all these years which will automatically update Bouquets after a change in the Service Lists ?

Or is there a way to force the WebIF to source the Service Lists instead of the Bouquets ?

Or is there a plugin extension that was built for this purpose that I'm unaware of ?

That's for Usals I'm talking about using a positioner for cband.

I'm sure the answer is literally in front of my face but I can't see where to store the satellite position for a cband sat ? It only says "press ok to store" but it doesn't give an option to assign a position number or slot number ?? Thanks

Does Barry Allen allow a clone dm900 to boot genuine images from backup with working tuners ? That is what I thought I had read but although I can get all images to boot fine they are still using the genuine drivers which of course won't work on a clone so no tuners.

Is this a false assumption on my part or am I doing something wrong ?

And yes I have tried loading the flash with many images including working sim2.30 images with working tuners.

So I'm not out of the woods yet...

All images boot fine but even though the Flash image has working tuners none of the non-sim2.30 multi boot images do.

Does anyone know HOW Barry Allen uses the flash drivers for ALL images ?

I have Merlin installed in flash and BA installed and everything works fine with the 16gb flash With the 4gb card I just had a black screen when booting from backup images for some reason but the sd card itself seemed to be the problem.

For anyone having a similar problem Barry did not like my 4gb sd card but works fine with a 16gb card I had laying around.

The install went ok and Barry Allen is in the Plugins menu however after ftp'ing a few images over and extracting them through the menu they show up in the Barry Allen menu of available boot options but only Flash will boot. All other options yield a black screen with the name of the image on the dm900 display.

Have to reboot with the power switch on the rear of the unit to boot again from Flash. What has gone wrong here ?

Does this still work or does the fact gutemine closed his servers have nothing to do with it ?

I have a DM900 clone Sim2.30 if I follow the instructions in post #42 will I be ok ? And which image should I have loaded to the box it's loaded with DreamElite 6.0 at the moment. Thanks.

Just downloaded 6.4 for dm900. I know it's not supported but every version of Openatv I've tried has a funky Blindscan at least for Cband didn't try it for Ku. For some reason there are no Cband frequencies in the Blindscan menu, they start in the 6000+mhz area and go up and cannot be edited for the proper frequency range.

Is this a known issue or just peculiar to the DM900 ?

Interesting. The power went out here and the unit booted itself up such that it looked exactly like it does when it freezes - looks like it's in idle state, clock on the front is frozen in time and unresponsive to file transfer, telnet or even touching the panel power button. Perhaps it was the original power supply and it was causing an interruption or brown out to the uP. It had run for almost three days I think (?) before this power outage.
