    Hi Mate,

I have a similar setup but use the Gbox 3000 for my actuator, I have never come across this problem as the Vbox stores all the satellite positions and not the receiver you need to do as master G says and install either catseye channel list or someone elses, then goto advanced menu as you so rightly said use Dieseqc 1.2 and do not use USALS and assign each Sat the number you have stored in your Vbox.

Thats the beauty of a channel list no need to scan as they are pretty much up to date anyway.

This ones not bad but does not cover everything but will give you a start

    also this one

the image you have at present is the official image from VU+ themselves which can be directly downloaded from there official website, i have a very similar setup apart from the VboxII i use a Gbox V3000. The intial setup is laways going to be time consuming as you have to setup the service searching menu to advanced and then put all your pre stored positions into the box once done though and you have everything as you like it you can either do a full backup of the whole image and save it in case of any mishaps, Personally i use blackhole image and use the full backup and personal settings backup so basically if a new BH image appears i can flash that and use the personal backup to restore all my Gbox settings.

I am afraid there is no backup utility on the official image unless you can download a plugin to do a personal backup, It may be a pain but your better off writing all your stored positions and corresponding numbers on a piece of paper and flashing a new image preferably one that allows you to at least do a personal backup.

Pretty much the same box but both run hardware not too dissimilar from a DM800, I owned an GB800se and found it painfully slow at booting from cold just over 2 minutes although once up and running it was absolutely fine. As for the Newdvb 800 probably more supported images to choose from.

i'm on black hole at the moment i think it was version .25 the misses is on the box at the moment

    Hi thijss,

i never tried the plugin on the Vu always changed the mountpoint in the settings, One thing to remember though is your USB's speed i tried quite a few different sticks for permanent timeshift that also had picons and epg data stored and none worked correctly due to write speed, they worked in a fashion but all the recordings ahd a slight breakup or loss of sound every minute near enough.

I ended up going back to the hard drive, The only solution i did not try is use one stick for EPG/Picons and a separate one for timeshift may work

you have to mount your devices through the Blue button Press blue button once and then press blue button again to enter the extra settings menu and the access the devices manager and mount your USB there and reboot

I think with the new addition of the Vix nightly build image its pretty much the same as OpenPLI nightly builds none are tested and so you are the guinea pig so to speak, I know they do release the odd bit of info explaining which of the nightly builds is stable but its too late if you have already got a pre-test build on your machine.

An option is to goto satfinder in the menu and select the GOTO '0' function and then try again from scratch, if you do fancy going up on the ladders then there is a small pinhole in the TM2600 motor where the plastic cover is for the LED the motor can be reset from this point and it will rewrite the satellite table already stored in the motor back to default

Support will continue until the new Duo2 gets a good market lead when that will happen is anyone's idea, but expect teams such as Blackhole to put evertyhing into the Duo2 when it comes out seeing as they are the official image makers for VU.

Also look at it this way if the clone market keeps going then expect to find what happened with the DM800 that the clones got patched newer images than what the originals did.

Just to reiterate about TSpanel its NOT crap i think where a lot of this stems from is due to the fact that has already been said there is a large variety of different plugins etc.. available on the feeds and 9 times out of 10 its down to user error and not the plugin itself that causes a system crash, I just think if people would spend a little bit more time when using TSpanel and searching correctly for the Plugin/cam they need for there own particular image then it will work first time all the time.

It all depends on what motor you are using if its a USALS diseqc motor then if your system is set for USALS you cannot fine tune any other satellite and save it as USALS is software based and works for your longitude and latitude details, Your only option would be to switch to advanced mode and use Diseqc 1.2 so far all the other satellites that are ok just set the option for 'Use usals for this Sat' to yeas and the ones that are slightly out select no and fine tune each one individually.

You would of course have to do this if you where using a 36v motor anyway.

I had similar problems with the last 2 versions of Blackhole 1.74 and .75, I tried various tweaks and it still would not work right went back to 1.73 and all was fine again maybe a bug in the image.
