All I did was go to device manager, highlight my USb pressed over to set it to /media/usb
Same for HDD, /media/hdd

Assuming it's running vista or that other thing win7 hit F8 as the lappy boots, choose repair system, once vista/win7 loads you should have an option for Factory reset, basically you put the system back to the day and hour you bought it.
Backup any photos and docs you need before doing it.

May well find them cheaper elsewhere, not sure tbh.

It's called Card Sharing for a reason mate, once you grasp the concept of it, you'll figure it out pretty quickly.

Just buy the latest SIM.

Images are hosted on imageshack, maybe thats the prob for some.
Text alone tells you what to do so no need for images, or simply ftp cccam to /tmp and do a manual install, assuming it's more or less the same as working with a dm800.

COM/Serial port issue by the sounds of it, can do a loopback test on the port to check if it's working.
-
Also stop trying to overclock a sly card, there is no need.

You need DreamUP_Linux_1_3_beta for linux.
Dreamboxedit, copy dreamboxedit.exe to desktop and open a terminal.
Problem with windows dreamUP after starting it with wine there is no com port showing (tty in linux)
Any software written in .net, you need Mono installed to get it running.
[edit] Obviously install wine

Yes, use Wine.

300 seconds!?!?!
PMSL have you lost your mind????
The pro updater has a abusive update threshold of around 1 hour (pro = paid for)
So updating every 5 minutes is completely over the top.
You have to think to yourself, how often does my ISP change my IP address?
The lease expiration can be checked via ipconfig /all or ifconfig or even by looking at your router and checking the expiration time, even then they can give you back the same IP.
4 to 6 hours even 24 hours is more than enough for updating, unless you have a really crap ISP "eircom is really crap :)"
Constantly hammering your dyndns/no-ip to check your IP is uptodate is just silly.
-
Own was disabled using the updater on crappy windows cause I never logged into the site within 90 days, after I enabled it again, seen what it cost, and considering I benefit from it, I now pay yearly for it.
Maybe rules have changed since I used the freebie version? either way they deserve the few quid for the year.
-
It's $15 per year (bout £9) considering how often you'd use it, worth paying for IMO. Then you don't have to worry about the 90 day log in and that nonsense.
-
Change it all to clines, your going to save yourself hassle if you do.

You can set up the 1tb hdd as a share then stream the videos/mp3 to your dreamboxs, assuming this is what you want to do? The hdd would need to be set up on a PC.
As for XBMC, you can stream from dreambox to xbmc not sure if you can do it vice versa. Matter of adding and editing files in XBMC, check the xbmc wiki on dbox streaming.
