The world's first pretty comprehensive E2 tutorial and its predecessor...

This article is a small piece of community history — a collection of the original, all-round set-up guides that started here on LinuxSat Support. They were written to be genuinely complete, step-by-step walkthroughs: the kind that leave no stone unturned, so that anyone could flash, configure and actually use their box with confidence.

The Story Behind the Guides

It began with support for the AZBox HD, originally written in two languages and later translated into several more thanks to a handful of enthusiasts. The aim was always the same — a complete, step-by-step tutorial that absolutely everyone could follow.

When Enigma2 became available for the hardware, the focus shifted to E2. As a member of the Power Board (PB) Team, the author produced the PB Enigma2 guide for the AZBox — to this day one of the first all-round guides to flashing, setting up and then living with Enigma2.

A Ferrari 500HD (a DMM clone) followed, and with it the PB Enigma2 guide for the F500HD. The material is dated now, but the underlying principles remain the same — which is exactly why it is still worth keeping.
