The default delay Enigma2 leaves between powering up an LNB/switch and sending tuning instructions isn't long enough for Unicable devices. From a cold start — or the first satellite service selection — this produces a "tune failed" message.
Why it happens
Unicable devices are digital and need a finite time to boot between being powered up and receiving their first tuning instruction — anywhere from 0.4 to 3 seconds, depending on the device. If the receiver sends the tuning command before the device has booted, the device won't respond and you'll see "tune failed".
How to fix it
To stop the message and make tuning stable, lengthen the default delay:
- Switch off and disconnect any other receiver using the same Unicable device.
- Go to the Plugins Browser (Menu → Plugins → GREEN → system plugins) and download the satelliteequipmentcontrol plugin.
- Open it (Menu → Setup → Tuner config → Satellite equipment setup) and accept the warning message.
- Find the setting "Delay after enable voltage before switch command" and increase it — 0800 is a good starting point.
- Save the settings, exit, and do a GUI restart.
- If the "tune failed" message is gone, you're done. If not, increase the setting by 200, restart and test again — keep going until the message no longer appears.
- Add the same plugin and delay to any other receivers that will use this Unicable device.
