How to Flash Zgemma H7 Series UHD 4K Linux Enigma2 Receivers

Here's how to reflash a Zgemma H7S or H7C with a new Enigma2 firmware image from a FAT32 USB stick. (Adapted from a guide by Satboxer, Zgemma.com.) For dedicated H7 support, see the PurE2 section: PurE2 Team.

What you'll need

  • A freshly formatted FAT32 USB key.
  • Your chosen firmware image.

Flashing the receiver

  1. Download the latest release of your chosen firmware image directly from the developer's website.
  2. Once downloaded, unzip it — you'll get a folder named zgemma (with an H7 folder inside it). Copy the whole zgemma folder to your freshly formatted FAT32 USB key.
  3. Turn off your H7 receiver with the white button at the rear, next to the power input.
  4. Plug the USB key (with the zgemma folder on it) into any USB port.
  5. Behind the front flap (door panel) you'll find a small button at the top left. Hold this button in while turning on the rear white power button.
  6. Keep the front button pressed — the front LCD changes through BOOT → USB → FLASH. When FLASH is displayed, release the front button.
  7. The receiver displays FLASH for about 2 minutes while the new firmware loads.
  8. The box then restarts itself, showing BOOT on the front screen [00>100].
  9. Your new firmware appears on the TV screen and the setup wizard guides you through the configuration.

Special note: if an internal hard disk (HDD) is fitted and you save your settings to it, you'll be offered the option to import your previous settings and bouquets.

⚠️ Don't interrupt the flash. While the box is flashing, do not power it down — wait for it to finish, or you risk a corrupt image.
