  • I will check it out now bud, thank you for that

  • So you have not been watching the the packages like sky germany which can be opened easily with these boxes?

No I havn't bud. I dont have any cams etc

The cams can be download directly to your box, usally by pressing menu, plugins, green button to download plugins and then softcams. A good starting point is ncam 15 or a version of oscam.emu.. These softcams need a server to connect to to open up the best channels. There is a free server addon on this forum called c line downloader. This gives you acces to c lines which were used in cccam softcam,. Because most of us use ncam or oscam there are converters and you simply copy the clines into the converter. This gives you a text file and you copy it into the ncam.server file. Restart the cam and it opens the channels. Another free server addon is called zoom, also available on here. You can also buy the server which is easier. I cannot go into any more detail on the forum as its against the forum rules. Basically your box can open many many packages across europe for very little cost. Good luck.

Very clear explanation, thank you buddy

  • Are you aware you can buy a pvr kit for the zero? Although that pvr kit is stupidly priced. You can buy another box for that price.

Just use a USB to fit an external HDD... or USB Memory Stick,.. and voilà,

Personally I have VU+ Zero 4k, VU+ Uno 4k and VU+ Uno 4kse, all working good... and nice boxes.

Also have the UHD models of DMM, the DM900, DM920, DreamOne and DreamTwo, happy of all them as well.

and.. I still use my old DM800HDse and DM8000HD boxes, as well as I have few DM525HD Combo running smoothly with the DVB-T2 included.

The OP mentions something that most STB makers seam to skimp on, the bloody Remote control. I have never understood why they dont spent a few more pounds on the one part that gets used the most. Im sure most buyers would happily pay an extra 10 quid for a decent remote control.

I have had many boxes over the years, probably 20 odd different makes, my Xpeed lx2 and lx3 had really good remotes.

The newer VU+ remote control is a close second.

But all the other manufacturers remotes, have been absolute shite...

the sf8008 with its clicky buttons was one of my least favourite remotes (the box itself is very good though).

My advise would be to buy the duo 4k, Other options i would consider:

VU+ Uno 4K SE 1x DVB-S2X FBC (8 demodulators) Twin Tuner Linux Enigma 2 PVR Receiver UHD 2160p

Gigablue UHD UE 4K 2xDVB-S2X FBC (8 demodulators) ULTRA HD Linux Enigma 2 PVR Receiver

    Zgemma H7S 4K UHD H.265 HEVC Triple Tuner Combo 2x DVB-S2X + 1x DVB-C/T2 Linux Enigma2 Multi-stream Digital Receiver

  • Hi, thank you for your reply. I was thinking about doing that but I bought a wifi usb to go with it and it only has one port. I have seen your posts about how to fix a DM800 and I was going down that road but I thought it's time to upgrade. Wish I fixed the Dm800 now to be fair. You have a great collection bud. Good to see that.

The sticky keys part is so true. Like you said a tenner more and your get a better remote. It's like these top end sports cars with seatbelts from the 90's.

    Thanks for your reply.

I think VU is the way forward, will check those specs

  • Every satellite receiver RCU gets a workout. Once you use a streaming box such as an Apple TV, Firestick, Fire TV, Nvdia shield, etc. that you pair a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to. Even smart TV's let you do it. The RCU gets a well deserved rest. An E2 receiver with the same would be super cool. Up/down/right/left. And the never ending switching images and figuring out the keymapping prevails. Just gets old.
Accurate blind scan capabilities far foreshadow the bling of the VU+ boxes for me now. So my next receiver will be the SF8008 with 2 DVB tuners.

  • I know I am going off subject here. But the One for all Essense 2 universal remote control is what I use as it's super quiet every button.
One for all Essense 3 + 4 which has media buttons annoyingly had clicky silver buttons.
    I don't like noise.

  • but that remote is now unavailable!!! back on topic the uno4kse is top notch and the remote is aesome but if you are really hung up on performance you can even get a blutoooth remote and change channels when you are in the next room.

It has a twin FBC tuner and a nice caddy for the ssd. and it does multiboot when set up from the start.

As for the duo4kse then same as uno but faster chip, twin fbc tuners etc but expensive

I like the fact the duo is bluetooth and to be honnest an extra 40 quid isn't out of the way. Not sure if the duo has multiboot. I have the same remote on my duo2 as an upgrade from the old remote and yes it is awesome :)

  • I have the duo4kse and yes it does multiboot and the duo2 remote will work the duo4kse and vice versa and you can have both boxes in same room with remotes as you can change the remote code on each.

the uno4kse does blutooth as well.

Box coming tomorrow hopefully. So is it multiboot ready?

I will change one of the handsets

I need to work out how to and loop the lnb out to feed the vu with the same satellite. I think the seller said there was 2 feeds in on one tuner. All double dutch to me til I see it . Seen the bluetooth bit so handy for earphones. Cheers

  • The ax hd61 4k is a well liked box, hard to get hold of. Probably get it on ebay germany.

But the octagon SF8008 is still a good price.

For our country, having an excellent equipment for blindscan is a priority, I know that the FBC tuners have problems to make a good scan in C-band especially, this equipment AX HD61 4k AX HD61 4k what kind of tuners has? How good is it for blindscan? Looks very similar to the Novaler¡¡ Thansk

You have to enable the kexec multiboot functionality after you flash the first image of your choice. You can then flash other images into different directories.

The FBC tuners will not blind scan.

Draw a picture of your LNBs, Dishes, cabling and any switches if you want useful advice instead of people having to guess what equipment you have and speculate how it should be configured. Your tuner configuration must match the hardware to avoid issues.

  • I got the unit today. I wasn't sure if it had a protective cover on the front of the unit. I phoned the supplier and he said there was and just peel it off. I tried to peel it with my nail but I couldn't get it off. I tried ductape on it but still didn't work. I am concerned if it hasn't got a cover on then the unit would be scratched to hell.

The supplier said there is definitely a film u can remove but I can't seem to remove it. Also there is dirt trapped behind the screen. I think I will be sending it back.

    Cheers
